I built mine for 4 watches. Cost around 60 bucks and a cheap timer.

·

None, most watches come with hand winding anyways. I would maybe consider it if i had a very complicated watch that was a pain to reset, but otherwise i set the time on my watches nearly every day anyway, so winding them is just part of that ritual 👍😊

·

In theory - two arms and 8 fingers + 2 thumbs, +/- given circumstances (I don’t want to assume).

·

Why no option for none?

·

E , own some but don't use them & won't.

None

One for a moonphase and that's it.

·

@Franks you can add an option for none while editing the post.

·

None.

I also don't leave my car idling when i'm not driving it .....

·

Where's the option for, "I think they're a silly idea and I will never buy one, ever..."?

·

None, have been doing just fine without one for 15 years, don't see any upcoming changes to that.

I might reconsider if I had a high end perpetual calendar/moon phase auto that was a huge pain to set, but I'll probably never drop that kind of cash on one.

I agree with my fellow crunchers that do not “need” a winder. I have too many mechanical watches that unless I bought a cabinet unit that kept them all wound and also secured, it would not be worth the cost. I’d have a hard time deciding which watches to keep in a typical size 1 to 2 winder unit. Don’t get me wrong, I like watch winders. Some of them are beautiful and the look is very appealing, but I see them as more of a novelty. Only caveat is for a perpetual piece or high complication.

·

"As many as I need" which is zero.

·

Zero. I enjoy hand winding (moment of zen), and I don't mind a Seiko shuffle now and then.

·

One for my speedy triple date. It’s kind of a pain to set and I don’t wear it as often as I used to.

·

I’d get one if I had a triple date or perpetual calendar but other than that, I see no value in a winder.

·

I despise watch winders...however, I don't know how to handle my perpetual calendar complications without them.

I truly believe watch winders damage your watches...I use high quality winders by Wolf and still the only watches I've had to send in for service have been watches that were on the watch winder. Both my L.U.C. and AP got messed up by the watch winders.

I've given several away now to my friends who wanted them.

Not sure where else to turn...

My wife and I are both watch collectors. When we were both working, we could occasionally keep all five of our winders operating. Typically, only one or two were in use. We have an extensive collection, and I use them now just to ensure that all our automatic watches get some run-time every month. This is important from a maintenance perspective.

·

None. I don’t think it’s the greatest for the movement

·

I don't keep so my watches wound, have four winders for keeping what ever the flavour if the month is and my 3 watches that don't have a quick set date
