Help choosing a watch

I've sold several watches to find a new purchase but I'm really torn between these two.

First the Formex Essence 43. I've had my eye on it before out won the microbrand tournament.

Pros: looks, cosc, great bracelet or leather options.

Cons: I haven't tried it on or seen one in person. It's also similar to my citizen.

The Oris was the other watch I was considering when I got my Ball. Ultimately I chose the Ball because it was too good of a deal.

Pros: feels great on my wrist, cool clasp, and I know I really like it

Cons: it'll probably make my Hamilton kfa redundant, not quite as unique as the formex

I think it really boils down to if I should take a chance or go for the sure thing.

I like how the Oris looks better.

The overlap with my current watches.

I like that Formex, its a really refreshing design in any collection 👌😍 according photos and videos but I would really have to see the actual appearance in person first

·

The Formex looks like any other Genta integrated blue watch. You already have that (though not in blue).

The Hamilton is IMO a better looking version of the field than the Oris (not that the Oris has anything wrong with it).

Either would be a sideways move.

So go get something different.

Oh tough one!! Get both! 😂🍻

I've been looking for an excuse to buy formex, but Oris is in house movements, which model Oris is that ?

·

Formex all day long for me. Bought one recently and love it.

It's the 45mm pro pilot

It's likely that whichever I don't choose is going to be a next year watch, depending on if I sell one of my bicycles and if we start the kitchen remodel.

Oris

The question is which one first argh sooo tough!! But I might go with Oris unless the formex is harder to get later due to demand…then formex

Both are nice but I think I prefer the Oris here.

·

Nice choices! You can’t go wrong ( personally is go for smaller refs of each.)

·

Looking through my photos here's a photo of the pro pilot I tried on.

And from the same day a 55mm flieger.

I think the 43mm essence has excellent dial to bezel proportions. Looks on pictures even better than the smaller one, to me at least. That's what I'd take out of the two.

In your situation, if it must be a pilot, I'd go for a bigger Pilot watch. The Oris is a very casual watch, works (in my opinion) better in big sizes. Now that watch isn't small but your wrist is even bigger based on the images provided.

I tend to agree here that these are roughly duplicates and/or lateral acquisitions of almost the same as what you have.

My advice would be to add something that gives a distinct third option to wear on any given day that doesn’t overlap or compete with what you already have.

I have the Oris and it is an awesome watch. The legibility is the star feature.

If you have OCD the alignment of the day and date wheels can be a little off but that’s really the only fault I can find with this watch.

Tough choice here. I would go with the Oris because it’s different and @AussieWatchGuy’s pictures make that lume just pop. Can’t fault you with either decision though.

·

They each follow different design aesthetics. Go for the piece that captivates you the most.

How about a pilot?

Truly can’t go wrong with either here. I’ve found myself torn between both as well so I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you choose! I’m going to be doing a little shaking up to my collection here real soon, and love all the inspiration I can get haha

I ended to choosing the Formex. I picked this one up slightly used and I'm really happy with it. I had originally wanted the white dial but the fact that I have several white dials and this one was a good deal made the choice for me.
