Are renders even allowed? ๐Ÿ˜‚

here's the digital visualization of the dial chosen for a project I'm currently working on for university, what do you watch lovers think?

Honestly it feels backwards. Makes me literally uncomfortable looking at it.

Interesting care to explain? What do you mean when you say it feels backwards?๐Ÿค”

I think the crosshairs are too close to the 9. Other than that, it looks nice. Good work and I wish you success with your studies.

ยท

Looks good, but we're used to seeing subdial at 6 or 9

fair... I could play around with it more, and thanks!

I like it, it is different and unique. Keep designing what you like.

When I looked at the watch originally, I assumed the seconds subdial was actually the hours dial. And it felt like I was reading it backwards. That it is makes it a little better but it still feels to me like it's falling off the right hand side of the dial. I think if it were smaller and it's edges were in a bit from the edge it would give me a different feel.

Interesting๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

ยท

is this for a chronograph movement?

I see, thank you for the feedback!

Yeah I'm designing around a sellita sw510

You're welcome! Good luck! I look forward to seeing your progress.

Interesting ๐Ÿ‘ For me the hour markers could all be the same colour. Or graduate the 6 and script to match the 12.

ยท

I assume it's a chronograph and the crosshair dial is for running seconds and the other is for elapsed minutes.

If so then the minute subdial is far too big and shouldn't extend into the chapter ring, crosshairs too long, and the font doesn't really work-espescially at the 6 position where the numeral appears to be drifting off course.

If I can be honest, I think that the black dial looks quite faded, I don't know if it's the inclination of the light, but the indicators are quite lost on that background in my opinion. Next, I would change the indicators to numbers and at the sub-dial I would cut from 2 and 4 to make it look like the sub-dial cut the numbers. I think the Breitling Premier has it like that too and I would also change the font of the numbers, I don't like the angled characters. What I like is the size of the sub-dial and the font above 6 o'clock. I would probably add a logo under 12, even if there would be echoes of a crowded dial, but this is a chrono and it is literally desirable to make it look busy. But it's just my opinion, and a lot depends on the case itself, how the overall look develops so mainly it depends on youself, if you like it the way you build it then it's all what matters ๐Ÿป

honest feedback is the best feedback! Cheers!

Love the numeral font.

I love the railroad track, the fonts, hour indices, and dial color. As a Libra, Iโ€™m all about balance and I personally love symmetry. I think you know where Iโ€™m heading, right? If youโ€™re going to do a big eye, I think it will need to be slightly downsized so it doesnt interfere with the railroad markings. Iโ€™d keep the seconds the same size but it move closer to the center.

ยท

Take my money, nowโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ’ท๐Ÿ’ท๐Ÿ’ท๐Ÿ’ท

The quality of this render is very high. Good work on that bit!

ยท

I don't like the type face of the numerals. The cross hair and the seconds dial are a bit to big and the triangle indicies are a bit small. Play around with the shadows and sizes of the indicies. I like the polish. Overall, nice design. Love to watch it's evolution. Keep us posted.

ยท

With the right style of hands and case Iโ€™d wear that!

ยท

For me the 3 different text are in conflict. Numbers are in italics, main name is straight across the dial and below this the blocks are circular. I like the minute markers but not the arrowheads on the hour, the arrows take away the elegance tha the fine lines and the colour way gives. By slanting the numbers it encroaches on the chrono dial, which is why most elegant dial cut into the number as the function of the chrono is highlighted. Thanks for sharing, and good luck with your studies. This is a great place to ask ๐Ÿ˜‰

ยท

That's amazing. The right case would push it over the edge.

ยท

This looks amazing, but the logo near the six is a little strange. It's just you automatically look at the 12 or 3 for It.

The relative size of the sundial as well as placement off the edge brings a greater sense of resolution of the motif here IMO.

Looks like a dial for an ST1901 movement. I like the font and triangle markers. RR minute track adds some vintage vibes. I donโ€™t like the changing colors on the markers. They appear to be graduated from the vertical line 12to6 and darker when moving to the 3. Why make the 9 dark as well and leave out the 12 and 6? Not a fan of the color scheme for the hour markers but overall I really like the layout, dial color, font, and subdials.

Bellissimo! Bravo Elia!
