Who wore it best?

Hello fellow Crunchers! I want to talk two-tone today. Specifically two-tone sports watches with a turning bezel that incorporate solid gold in their design.

I don’t want to say diver, as I have thrown in a Yachtmaster or two, and I’m not sure anyone is diving with gold on their watch 😁.

What’s your favorite two-tone “diver”? Post up pics of your choice! For my money, I don’t know if anything beats the Bluesy sub… but then again, I don’t have any money… or a sub 😂

I snagged most of these photos from Google images, so if I need to remove any images, please let me know and I will do so 🙏

I own one of these WN1150 2000 Exclusives from the early 2000s. White dial, 12, 9, and 6 dial, great lume, solid 18k rose gold bezel, extremely comfortable bracelet, perfect size (38mm), solid reliable, and serviceable quartz movement, and can be found around $500. I love these models!!

I love the look of the bluesy sub. The ratios of gold to steel to the blue just seem perfect to me.

Agreed! I’ve lusted after one since I was a kid. Something about it is just gives me the butterflies. The blue ceramic bezel is 👌

I also dig this Superocean 😍

As opposed to gold plating that is.

"Solid gold" will keep the riffraff out of this thread. Like me. 😉

Bluesy, white text.

·

I’m not a fan of two tone but I gotta say the GO SeaQ looks classy as hell

Imo, tool watch can be in precious metals when it became an icon. SubC is the most iconic in mentioned criteria. Precious metal watch can be dressed up more easily than steel only, while can be dressed down very well. Two tone on Rolex is best fit imo. SubC Two tone black would be my choice as I'm kind of conservative person. But I can't deny the beauty of the bluesy.

Enjoy the hunt.

I agree when you picture a two tone dive watch this is the design/look that comes to mind and it’s been imitated so much by others. Has to be one of the best two tones out there. I also like the two tone black sub but it’s not as iconic

For me the blue just sets off the gold so well but the black does look pretty good. I actually like the black and two tone better on the GMT.

Plated wears away and looks like crap 💩

That's the beauty of the plated watch. It's cheap enough to replace when it starts showing its age which by the time the gold wears off it has seen a lot of use

Not a fan of two tone watches. Don't know why..

I see your point 🧐

Pallet_Fork

Plating sometimes wears away. A well-kept gold-plated watch will look good practically forever.

You have a point 🧐

Omega, then Oris.

Gold and blue doesn’t do it for me - a bit too bling tbh

However the white dial SeaMaster with the gold bezel is beautiful- reminds me of a yacht master

Blue and gold goes well that Seamaster one is only one that I like.
