What’s Your Latest Lucky Watch Purchase?

I’m at a friend’s house in Hurricane, UT for a visit, and drove over to the local Walmart today for some provisions. While there, I thought I’d scan the watches and was flabbergasted at the incredible selection.

Image

Among them, I found a blue Casio Duro for $11.00!

Image

And a Casio W-735H for $8.00!

Image

In total, I was set back a total of just $20.28!

Image

Sand Hollow, where I am, is a fun and beautiful place to enjoy the weekend. Little did I know I’d enjoy it even more with these wonderful watch finds.

Image

I have long-debated with myself about adding a Duro to my collection. Well…a trip to the Hurricane Walmart made this a no-brainer!

What’s your latest great watch find/purchase that left you jumping for joy?

Fantastic deals! Congrats!

Nice finds! I snagged an unwanted G-Shock off eBay last week, tossed it in an “Offshore” case mod, and ended up with a pretty cool piece for right around the price of what the G would have been on its own. 💪

That sounds awesome!

I got a Casio Rangeman blackout for £89 from a local John Lewis. Given the RRP is £299 I was pretty happy with that!

I was happy to pay $54 ($49 + Tax) for my Duro that I recently purchased. Getting it for $11 bucks was like winning the Casio lottery!!! 😍😍😍 Congratulations!! 😃

Man, that is crazy!

Not sure it's lucky since it's a sale on a major website here (in the UAE), but I picked up a Certina DS Action Diver (38mm) for 60% off, only about 380 bucks.

·

Steal! Even if the battery has a maybe a year or so left in it depending on how long it has been sitting there, still a steal.

Welcome to the Duro club.

·

They're on the way.....

·

That's basically free! A good burger, soda and fries costs more than that!

·

Not bad I managed to snag a G Shock last year from $89 down to $22.00

·

My brother messaged me this morning from a car boot sale. He got this tag wj131c-1 plus box and service papers for £30!!

Duro's are ridiculous purchases in general, price wise, but that price is out of sight. That is pure ridiculousness. I've seen people on a Facebook group suggesting there was some kind of run out on them; not sure what that's about. I know the ones with the Marlin on them (like you have there), were supposed to be phased out for some reason. Maybe this is finally that happening. Who knows? What I do know, however, is you now have a fun watch which will perform way better for you than any other $11 watch ever will.

I love this Watch! What color did you buy?

That is beautiful! 34mm?

No, 32mm. I really like the patina on the dial.

Rolled the dice at $80 on eBay and it runs just fine and looks stunning. I’ve had some great luck on eBay to be honest, you just gotta be patient.

Nice!

That’s a great idea!

Got this pocket watch at a train show for $30 and it’s mechanical

Damn, I may actually have to go into a Walmart to look for a similar deal. Curses!

·

I went to my local Walmart recently, in search for that $11 Duro deal, but struck out. At least I’m still grinning over my $100 Seiko SRPG39 field watch purchase!

Dang that’s nice!

I'm completely diggin' it! Wasn't sure if I'd like the textured dial, but it's more on the smooth side so it looks great. The applied numerals are a favorite!

Found this working Sheffield at an antique/coin shop out in the middle of nowhere yesterday. I've never seen a Sheffield Allsport Diver with an extra World Time bezel before which was as good an excuse as any to hand over $40.

That's a great strap that you put on your Duro! 😍 I have a navy blue strap from NATO on its way via FedEx, intended for my Pepsi dial Duro, but it hasn't arrived yet. 😕🤣

Thanks. I wanted to try out the Duro on leather and this alligator (with builtin quick release springbars) keeps the theme aquatic.

I have been eyeing off a stingray as well, the dotty colouring would be a fair match for the mostly dotty indices:

The Duro can take to bracelets as well like this 4mm thick sharkmesh:

when you want to combine a bit of dressiness with wetability.

That’s a great watch!

It surely is, I had one before that I gave away as a gift and I missed wearing it to work so much that I bought another lol

·

Checked the Walmart near me and found this #Casio for $8. I'm not that familiar with Casio so I don't know the model name.

I have to admit. The bracelet feels pretty cheap. It may feel better on a nice strap.

It’s nice looking though. Yeah…I’m pretty flabbergasted how I got so lucky with the Duro.
