Fisher-Price ain’t got anything on this!

One cold hard fact of life: the more seriously you treat it…the more insidious it becomes. Why not stave-off some of its ill and put something playful on your wrist!

Image

Remember when we were kids? We started out with Weeble Wobbles and Fisher-Price telephones, then went to Play-Dough and Hot Wheels…and ended up with a Schwinn Scrambler and Atari 2600! It was all fun…until we grew up and realized that life can be a real turd.

So why not bring out the inner Fisher-Price in you and get yourself a gigantic, toy-like effigy of a watch like my blazing-orange Armitron Bubblepop?

While wearing such a spectacle through the day, butthole bosses, triggered tramps and maleficent motorists will magically-fade…replaced with a colorful, oversized plastic piece of innocence that may accompany you as you bound through the sweet, happy fields of your youth that was wrenched from your aching grasp so long ago.

What watch do you put on to temporarily stave-off the inevitable miseries of life?

I don't have a watch to do that per se, but I should get one. To fight the humdrum, I wear bright colors, since it goes against the norm and the drabness.

My shoes today are a prime example and go well with that watch. Also, I have a vibrant royal blue shirt on.

Though I may need to look at another armitron.

Man, I want a watch in the colorway of your Fisher-Price photo.

I was just thinking about this yesterday. I thought to finish out this school year I need something bright and something so ugly it's beautiful. Heading into Hong Kong this weekend so I will see what they have to offer.

As it stands, I only have one watch, that I wear, and it's pretty basic...Seiko SRPJ45. As I do with everything, I'm starting to look at it and see how I can "alter" it. I have an engraving device so I may add some interest to the bracelet and maybe move on to its case. The bracelet is so noisy I like to use it as a fidget device as well.
