For me, a watch without a date is a weekend/evening watch. During a work day I'm likely to be checking the date than I am the time.
If you have no other options then go for it. I've had mine for almost a year and a half and it is serving me well.
The drawer for storage is very useful.
I've got one, it's nice and functional. The quality is fine for what it costs here, I think it was around £125?
But $300 seems excessive and possibly not worth it?.
