A "dressier" Seiko for the office

Been thinking about getting the SRPE for the past couple of months. Was thinking about getting one with the bracelet but after researching realised that it comes with a polished bezel. Whereas the NATO strap version comes with the brushed bezel.

Because of this I went with the NATO/brushed version (SRPE63). So glad I went with this version, not only do I much prefer the brushed bezel, but also with the strap situation. Turns out the leather strap that came with my SRPG is perfect for this (as seen in the photo) but also the NATO strap is perfect for the SRPG.

Do you work for Seiko's Presage marketing division? 😂

No. Just couldn’t resist. And can’t deny I had a glass of wine. It’s my birthday. Great watch👌

I have the one with the polished bezel (SRPE53), and I never realized that the one with the NATO strap came with a brushed bezel, as I wanted the bracelet. I do like your combination with the black leather strap, that works nicely.

They do look good on a bracelet from the photos and videos I've seen. Planning on getting a president bracelet from Uncle Seiko soon.

I looked at the president bracelet, too. But I'm torn, as I do not mind the look of the original bracelet in the slightest. (Despite of the rattle, it is rather comfortable to wear.) I would be curious to know how the president bracelet works out for you.

I know Seiko gets a bad rep for its bracelets but I have heard that the one with the SRPE is good for the price. Glad to hear it's comfortable for you, I think that's the main thing.

I'm hoping the president will be a good fit for me. I have very small wrists so it could be an issue. Although the Uncle Seiko had plenty of micro adjustments which should help.

Sure, the bracelet is good for the price, because you don't get that much of an upgrade in the Prospex collection, either. 😉But I shouldn't complain, it has a decent look, doesn't pull hair, and based on my personal experience lasts a long time. Good luck with the president, and post and update if you can.

I think you made a great choice! That blue sunburst dial is gorgeous. I ended up getting the diver version as my first dive watch and regret that a little. The thick dive bezel just takes so much dial surface away giving you less of that beautiful blue….

I've got that one as well, it's a nice watch, but it is quite big and heavy (not bad for a dive style watch, but my wrists are quite small). I do still like that watch and in a way getting the SRPE allows me to appreciate it more. I also recently found I had a spare leather strap that fits the SRPD which helps it fit on my wrist much better.

I just didn’t care for it at all, my first and probably last dive watch. The proportions are all wrong for my tastes. The one you have there seems to be more balanced in terms of diameter to dial size, and depth.

Is the NATO good quality? Does it make your wrist itch? Love that sunburst blue!

Did end up ordering the president bracelet from Uncle Seiko, just had it resized today. (It was finicky to even get on the watch for me, but wasn't going to resize myself)

Only had it on for the afternoon so a bit early to tell. It does look very good and the fit is not bad, the micro adjustments definitely help. Due to my tiny wrists had to have all of the removable links out. The person doing it was a little shocked.

The NATO that came with it is pretty good. For some reason Seiko the end of Seiko nylon straps are the main let down, they just aren't finished properly. Aside from that it is very comfortable, and I don't find it itchy. As mentioned elsewhere here, it's currently on my SRPG where it is a better fit (physically and visually).

It certainly looks good. I'm wearing mine today, also. What helps a lot is the relatively short lug-to-lug distance of the SRPEs for people with small wrists.

I bought the same one with nato and brushed bezel. My first seiko. Good choice!

Great convo, gents. For me, whether you got the polished or brushed bezel, the case design as a whole is versatile, and bracelet and strap options will be tons! 😎 @hbein2022 I agree, the original bracelet design of Seiko pieces have a decent look, and I'd like to take a step further and say it actually matches the case design because it does have an intended overall look. In fact, some models (like the one on my SNKL41) have the same bracelet design as those used on many GS pieces.

Yep, they don't pull hair, and hug your wrist quite comfortably. I don't really mind the "noisy jangling", as others so vehemently complaint about. This one on the SNKL41 is not as "jangly".

·

Bud, the president bracelet looks good. I got one too for my SNKL41.

When your Vaer A3 arrives, you might want to check if its jubilee bracelet will also fit, as that is the stock look of the SKX. I got a jubilee for my SNXS79.

Btw, I adjust bracelet links on my own, and since I too have small wrists, I'm guessing that you took out all the links on one side, and left one link on the other side. 😜
