Speedy Tuesday (Moonshine Gold)

What do you think of the Moonshine gold with champagne dial and black sub dials? What is your thoughts on taking a watch like a Speedy and putting it in precious metals for a major price increase? (Retail is $29,900)

Its a pretty watch! Not sure if I’d be able to stomach paying that much for it though…

·

There's days I hate it and days I want it.

I'll never own one, though. Too many other needs & achievable wants ahead of it.

·

Is this worth 3 or 4 regular speedys? I think we know the answer to that. 😂

I like the green variant more and if I had the money I would get it, won't even think twice lol

Most luxury brands do this, look at the Rolex with Submariner in gold. Makes sense on their other models but a complete gold dive watch is an expensive way to go for a swim.

Doxa made a gold 300T for $70000.

There is a Casio G-shock square in solid gold and it cost $70000 and if you do manage to find one, it's double the value now.

There is a market for precious metal variants but at the same time, these companies make it in limited numbers. Rolex for sure makes a lot more models in precious metals than Omega (probably more than the whole Swiss luxury watch brands) does in a year.

The bracelet alone costs $11k. More than a steel speedy!

It was done because there is a market for this watch at this price tag. More power to Omega if they turn it into a commercial success. It's their product and they do with it whatever they want.

On the rubber strap works for me. I wear all my watches on rubber, leather or NATO and this is my style. So when looking at it and if I ever wanted to add a precious metal piece into the collection then this would be one of my choices

It’s sooo much more wearable on a rubber strap. I can get a pic of this specific strap. It’s really cool b/c it tapers and has the moon surface on the inside. Really cool

I personally love it. Green dial as well 👌🏻if I could afford I would buy in a heartbeat

·

Theoretically I'd say no way but then I held a gold speedy at one of the meet ups and thought of nothing else for the longest time. Definitely a fan now.

·

I'm not a fan of this watch, however the white gold speedy with the silver dial is my grail watch so I'm okay with precious metals being used.

·

Beautiful but way above my pay grade !

And the weigh is almost 100g more than the standard speedy on a bracelet. You can feel the considerable bump in the weight with precious metals models.

You can almost sell the bracelet alone in the weight of the gold to buy a speedy 😂

·

Impressive

·

Nice, but prefer the original standard model myself. But it's the history that's the appeal for me, so I'd want it to look like those but I'd go sapphire sandwich. This just looks odd, like Saddam's gold plated AK-47 or a diamond encrusted hammer 🤔

Beautiful…moonshine gold the most wearable variant I think and this one and the green dial really stand out as gorgeous examples.

·

Precious metals on a sports/tool watch is always more of a flex than anything, but in terms of aesthetics I quite like Speedy variants. I like the pale hue of Moonshine gold too, and as much as I like pink golds, Sedna seemed a little too garish for my tastes when I saw it in person.

·

Do I want the $30,000 version of the $7000 watch? Probably not if I had the money :S

·

At that price, I’ll stay with my Speedy Moon Watch Pro. but that’s just me.

How available is the bracelet. I have it on the dark green leather band but I’d really like to get the bracelet. Thanks

It's nice; I would get this with the gold bracelet if money were no object.
