Two Weeks Two Watches

I’m off to Japan on Sunday for two weeks of vacation. My goal is to bring two watches. What do you all think I should bring? Couple general use Casio’s, one gold one on a NATO the other on a steel Milanese, Black Bay 58 by Tudor, Omega Speedmaster and the Hamilton Khaki. I know where I’m leaning but curious what WC thinks.

I’d go BB58 and Hamilton. Good thing about Japan is it’s generally safe to wear watches. Enjoy Japan, such an awesome country.

BB and Hammy

·

BB58 and the gold Casio 👌🏾

·

First off, great collection 👍

If these were my options, given the destination (Japan) and how safe it is, I would personally pack the Hamilton and the Tudor. The Hamilton would serve as my “can do anything field watch that won’t let me down, is rough and tough and capable of whatever I throw at it” for every day. While the Tudor would have all the benefits of a capable diver, but dressed in some nice evening clothes for any instances where being a bit more formal is appropriate. Still tough, but not overly tough.

My other option would be to swap the BB for the Speedmaster, but I think I’d be too aware and overly protective of it (but that’s just because I want THE Speedmaster and it’s at the top of my list, so any incarnation of the Speedy is too precious for me to risk anything as daring as a trip 😄)

Have fun, eat lots, snap photos, look at watches and be sure to keep us in the loop 🎉

Ayy, Hammy khaki field owner 👏🏻

For vacation I’d take the BB and the Hamilton. I took my Speedy with me on my last trip but barely wore it. A diver has more utility and can be worn for dress or play.

I'm going to osaka as well in a few days. Can anyone recommend a watch shop or shops to check out? Hoping to bring back some classics or vintage to add to the collection. As for the watch, I'll probably take the iwc chrono and the iwatch. Your speedy or hammy should be fine as well

·

BB & Speedy. Live a little!😁

·

Speed and golden Casio

·

Im currently on vacation, only packed a casioak... kind of regret it, but for me, packing light was somewhat a priority.

For Japan, def need a Casio and probably the hamilton if i had to pick.

·

I'm currently on vacation w a Oris big Crown and a boldr. Amazing choices, BB sounds just about right for an adventure in japan

·

The speedmaster. That’s it. Epic watch

·

I would only bring one watch unless they were both under 500$

No way I would leave one in the hotel room safe.

I got recommendations for Tokyo but not Osaka proper. Will you be in Tokyo as well?

·

BB58 and Hamilton. Japan is as safe as it gets

·

Tough choice!

I think I'd go with the gold Casio and the Hamilton for maximum comfort as they are pretty lightweight watches and can take a beating. The Speedy is tempting, too... But I stick with my initial choices!

Thanks, this time just osaka. Maybe next time Tokyo, so good to know as well

This is likely the most sage advice here 😜👍

·

Whatever suits what you are going to do here in Japan. You don’t need to be too concerned about wearing luxury watches.

Your chance of hitting the watch against rock wall bathing in an open-air hot spring is far greater than getting robbed😁

I hope you enjoy your time in Japan!

·

Enjoy the trip! I'd say speedy or Tudor + khaki. Black and white.

By the way, what's the watch roll you have there?

·

That’s the one! I got in on Oisin O’Malleys recommendation
