Knot Watches

Never heard of them before, I’m in Japan for vacation for a few weeks and came across this interesting brand. It’s a mix and match make your own watch! All straps fit each style of Watch with a massive selection of sizes, metals, movements, dials and of course straps. Really well priced. Seem to be $150 + depending on what you buy. Not sure if you can buy outside of Japan. Worth going to their boutique if you are in Japan.

Anyone own one?

It sounds similar to Kartel in UK.

As @parechute mentioned before in the thread: buying watches from Japan over Chrono24 https://watchesyoucanafford.com/japanese-watch-brands/

Few user also mentioned nice dealers. Probably interesting for you as well. Have good trip.

That's a cool idea! I'd probably give it a go if I found I could cobble together something I liked.

·

Interesting find! I'll definitely have a look when I'm there later this year

·

Cool concept. I recall Shinola doing somethiung similar in their boutiques a while ago.

I own one now. Red Urushi. Check their site out.

Thanks for pointing them out

Just ordered it after reading this post. I’ll post as soon as it comes in.

I had a look on their website. Some basic and uninspiring stuff at the low-end, and some pretty pricey stuff at the high end. The kind of stuff that leaves you wondering, "Uh... why?" For the 'privilege' of putting a strap on a watch, I'd rather take the AUD$1200 and buy something from a really great company, not some obscure microbrand. And guess what? If I don't like the strap it comes with, I can change it! Shhhhhh.

Would you recommend Japan as a holiday destination?? I've never been to Asia and would love to go someday soon! Also, thanks for sharing about these watches, it seems like Build-A-Bear workshop for men hah!

Bespoke watch project also offers this. But higher prices since they use ETA movements.

Hell yes it’s been amazing so far. It’s far from the cheapest place to visit although things like food is very affordable and the yen is weak now which helps. Shopping and customer service is unparalleled here. It’s definitely a trip worth doing some research into before going and I wouldn’t recommend for an inexperienced traveler but give me Tokyo and Osaka over Rome or Paris any day.

I go to Japan quite often, and am a watch nut as well of course.

I’ve never heard of this brand despite countless hours in shops big and small in lots of cities.

Interesting I’ve missed these, but maybe lower priced than the ones I’m typically looking at?

I own the platinum leaf chronograph. Fantastic piece overall. I just wish I measured one of their straps when I bought it, as it's not long enough for my wrist.
