I've enjoyed the previous thread discussing controversial watch opinions so I figured why not a new topic. 3 Watches, unlimited budget I'll go first. Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi (With the Old Bezel), JLC Reverso Duoface and a Patek Phillipe Rose Gold annual calendar with a Moonphase.

real life trio : Omega Speedmaster 1861 movement, Sinn 556-a, Black Bay 58 black dial
money no object : Rolex Submariner 6536-1, Omega Speedmaster 321 (the new one) and Patek Philippe Calatrava 5196 R
Breguet type xxi
Blancpain FF titanium
JLC master calender
I retire
Can't lie am a bit jealous of those three, I think the no date Submariner is one of the most aesthetically pleasing Rolex designs out there.
My no budget three would be:
Rolex GMT Master 1675
Rolex MilSub 5513/5517
Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Self-Winding Silver Dial.
Realistic 3:
My GMT
My Grandfather's Seiko 5
A tie between my CW C60 Ombre LE and my C65 Super Compressor. I love both of these watches!
I'd likely be one of those over wealthy guys that drives a old truck around and no one realized I was rich until I passed away. Right now my list would be:
I'm still trying to figure out my top 3 current watches but likely are:
1, Custom Watch Build I did for myself
2. G-Shock GW-M5610
3. Seiko Flighty
Potential top 3 item on queue (because it hasn't arrived).

I do like those CW C60 Ombres
these 3 but my opinion can change...
You said unlimited budget so...

Yeah the Vacheron is a hot as sh*t watch, grown on me quite a bit

I was going to comment however my top 3 is extremely similar to this top 3 hahaha
I always think maybe I should reduce my collection to 3 watches… but I would miss many of mine, how can I survive w/o my Moonwatch or my Polaris, etc. But in sake of the mind game: of my watches this is my 3 watch collection:
Daily beater: Sinn 856 UTC
Dress watch / watch of an independent watch maker: Hentschel Hamburg Hafenmeister
Sports watch and grail: Rolex Daytona
If I had an unlimited budget, I wouldn't be spending on a stupidly priced watches. And certainly not a Patek Phillipe. The prices of some of the watches here are obscene. If you get to be to be hugely wealthy, consider helping out those who are in poverty. These are watches and people are going without food.

If you have an unlimited budget then surely you could do both 🙃

I think I'd go the same route, even if I was insanely rich I think I'd try to keep my style a bit more low key.
2. Speedmaster 321 Canopus Gold, again a bit fancy, but not too showy. Unless you knew what you were looking at you wouldn't know what you were looking at.
3. Marathon GSAR Grey Maple Leaf, a rugged, and reliable tool watch.
My realistic three watches would be:
DS30
C63
Navigator
if I had to whittle my collection down to only three then it’s the Corum Bubble Lucifer, Omega Seamaster Chronostop, and the Rolex Milgauss.
so that’s a daily, a dress watch, and a watch to upset people with (not in that order).
if money was no object, Vacheron Constantin 1972 Prestige, Jaquet Droz Bird Repeater, and a Patek Phillipe Aquanaut 5168G
again, a daily, a dress watch, and a watch to upset people with.
Unlimited: Philippe Dufour Simplicity, Lang & Heyne Georg (or why not Anton), Jaquet Droz The Bird Repeater
"Realistic": Grand Seiko Omiwatari, JLC Reverso Duoface, Vaer A12 Dirty Dozen
Omega Seamaster 300m
Omega Aqua Terra 150m
Rolex Daytona Black Dial
Even with money no object I would limit myself to one truly fancy watch, because I would not want to wear a fancy one in most contexts. So:
TBH I could, at a push, afford these watches if I really wanted to. But (i) I am not sure I do (I keep changing my mind which watches I really like), it's too much money to spend on a whim, and (ii) it's still a too large portion of my available funds relative to how I (fail to) value watches. At the mo, the Sinn is probably the most likely of the three I might pull the trigger on.
