This is why I didn't go with a Seamaster recently. Was very close but had a feeling something would come along for the anniversary. I just have no money left 😔

Something of immense thickness, hence two horses (one isn't enough to carry it). The old man on top of the guilloche base decoration indicates "high craftsmanship". In other words, it's extra shiny and consequently its thickness must be matched, and will likely be surpassed, by its price.
Something smaller with a better bracelet 😉 or a GMT
I’ve been predicting a GMT from Omega all year. It feels like they are one of the few major brands not to roll one out during this whole GMT craze we seem to be in of late.

When I was looking on their site it seemed like the railmaster is one of the only watches with a solid case back and the seahorse on it still. Have you seen a similar design on some of their high craftsmanship pieces?
Hmm, heard in a podcast few weeks ago they were hoping for a Railmaster update for this year. I'm following this lead and adding that train get the same accuracy image as racecar so why not a Railmaster with the Spirate technology ?
I really want to like Omega because they have a craking seierls of movements however the seamaster doesnt work for me. The helium valve is stupid (no commercial diver i know would ever use it in Saturation) the braclet just isnt good enough and its a tad big. Fix all of that and im in!
30y of Bond diver and 75y of Seamaster and this is what we get... well, at least it is a nice dial 😉
Maybe I'm just being naive, but I really thought we would be getting the next generation, fully redesigned Seamaster Professional. The big anniversary comes on the sixth year of production of the current watch, which seems like a reasonable coincidence
Why do you like it? Help me understand, cuz I don't get it from a design & aesthetics point of view.
Stockholm syndrome perhaps? 😂. In seriousness though, I’m not sure why omega went for a manual HEV instead of a flush automatic valve. I suppose the manual valve is theoretically more reliable. I don’t mind the valve because it somehow adds symmetry to the watch. It’s not In-line with the crown, but there is a manually rotating bit on both sides of the watch. It also sits out of the way. If it was inline with the crown it might make the watch uncomfortable to wear as it would be far too wide.
Another reason why I like it is because it’s unique, nobody will ever confuse a SMP300 or PO for anything else really. It’s been part of the design for so long that the watch would look rather odd without it.
I also just really like tool oriented things, which is probably why I tend to gravitate towards German design. Due to that valve, the omega seems far less like a dress diver, and more like an actual tool as well.
The only thing I actually don’t like about the SMP300 is the bracelet, however I don’t really like it wear bracelets in general. Luckily there’s other strap options.
Anyway, hopefully that makes sense. That’s just my thoughts on the matter.

Stockholm Syndrome... LOL
Fair points, and good on you for being able to articulate the "why" behind your desire.
I guess I will still be on the outside looking in at it as a desired piece though.

I think they would not have made the 60th anniversary bond watch in the old case had they intended to release a new one. And added the green colour. I think this has easily 5 years of life in it with some mild dial tweaks, maybe with a movement modification (spirate technology etc?). The first generation ran for over 10y and continued with the CoAxial for another few years... so that one ran for 20y or so pretty much. The one with the smooth dial was short lived but I think that was Omega scrambling to compete with the extra shiny ceramic Submariner which came out just about the same time.

Everything you just said is entirely too rational and practical, and I don't like it. 😀

I’m hoping for a smaller cased SMP! 🤞

Oh, is it an anniversary year for the collection?

I believe it's 75 years?
I'm hoping a 39 or 40mm Seamaster 300 with a redesigned bracelet.
They’re teasing me

It would be nice to see a new line. Guess we’ll know soon.

And maybe lose the escape valve?

Reissue of Sean Spencer's Planet Ocean?
I read there was a leak pulled from omega forum and it is a two watch set with a special edition SMP and AT41 with a blue hue.
I’m hoping for a smaller cased SMP! 🤞
There are 37.5, 39.5 mm versions of Omega Seamaster Professional Planet Ocean models currently available in the lineup.
I'm hoping for a 2254 or 165.024 reissue.
Wouldn't say no to a Baby Ploprof reissue either!

The 37.5mm PO has been discontinued for some time now; you can still find them at ADs, but when they are gone, they’re gone.
Personally hope it comes back with a refresh, just not at the excessive ~15mm thickness.
2254 🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🙏

Not sure if it’s real, but I just saw this on Reddit.

The ad reads precision at every level so maybe a Seamaster with a spirate system?
Looks to me like an updated Aqua Terra – although I really hope for an updated Seamaster 300M
Think these were the leaks shared from a magazine.
I just realized the narrative says a 41mm diver. Aren’t the current models 42mm? Maybe a little smaller and thinner?
Sources close to the deal have leaked that Omega are doing a colab with Invicta to make the 58mm Formula1 themed chrono dive watch.
