Do You Change Your Watch? (poll)

Hey WatchCrunch community, my son and I were discussing my habit of changing my watch in the evening along with my work clothes. I pull a full Mr. Rogers every evening after work. Off with the wingtips, dress slacks, pressed shirt, belt, suspenders, and watch. And on with the shorts and t-shirt (for this time of year), sneakers or sandals, and a different, watch. The watch I select will relate to the planned activity for the evening. Yesterday (the watch that triggered this discussion), it was a Vostok Amphibian on a Vostok Milanese bracelet because I knew I would be helping with the dinner clean-up and likely getting wet. So, if you don’t mind sharing, how often you change your watch after work?

I usually wear something suited to all my plans for the day, which is fairly easy because I never have to be very formal. Sometimes I do get blindsided by something and swap over to a G Shock for it, but that's rare. Doing it this way gives me a little more time with some of the watches that I wear for specific situations, rather than swapping them in and out just for one activity.

·

I rarely change my watch during the day, but I try to rotate so I wear a different watch every day.

·

More so recently, so I didn't pick always.

even though I work from home, I get dressed and wear a dress watch. So around 4 or 5 I will swap to something sportier.

·

My watch changes are rarely related to finishing work, but sometimes more so for starting work. Most of my watches are #gada, so I don’t mind them getting wet or dirty occasionally, but if I’m doing something official, I’ll wear a nice(r) watch for it. That said, I will pick a new watch for another occasion as well, such as a fancy dinner, but not right when finishing work.

Man after my own heart! I always do that! 😀

·

I voted often. 90-95% of the time I swap watches when I get home. A diver on a nato strap is my go to choice for lounging around the house.

·

Is there any other way?! 😀 I always put on a tough quartz with an easy-to-clean band, usually my G-Shock.

·

I go to work with one watch on. When I get done working, I work out, shower, then put on a different watch. Same thing with whatever fragrance I'm wearing.

·

I only wear one watch for the entire day but change it out daily with a different watch in the rotation, unless i travel away from home in which case i only bring the one watch on my wrist. I don't want to risk packing multiple watches and have it lost.

The consummate beater! Every day when I get home it goes on...

Usually three times a day, sometimes more. Got a bunch of watches.

·

I change up my watch 3 times a day ... Breakfast ... Lunch ... And dinner 😎

·

I usually change my watch several times a day depending what I'm doing.

·

Twice at a minimum

·

You are not alone; short answer yes. Started with my LP this morning and ending with my Seiko SSK001 to close out the night.

Why not...

I have been known to change my watch for events, such as wearing a beater watch to work, and then switching to a dress watch when I go to meet my son for a special father-son lunch; but in the evenings, when I get home, I typically do the same thing that you do: change into more comfortable clothes, and take off the watch that I had on at work. But at that point, I usually don't replace it with another watch. I simply go without, because there are so many clocks in my house, that I really don't need a wristwatch at that point.

·

I’ll pick a watch for the day at work. Then I’ll switch it up when I get home

I change my watch everyday. I have a weird routine where I get the watch I like, then sit on my couch and spend a minute or two just winding, fixing the date and sitting in peace. Thats when the whole house is asleep and its just me in the quietness with the sound of the winding motion.

I know this sounds so pretentious, even to me. But really though, putting aside any theatrics, the 60 seconds I spend doing this every morning (except for the days I wear my gshock or lunar pilot), its weirdly relaxing!

I love going into my watch box and adjusting dates, giving the autos a shake, and winding the mechanicals. Even if I dont wear them that day it keeps me connected. 😀

I can see myself looking like the OP photo….its a possibility😁

·

At some point during the evening, I usually choose the following day’s watch, set the time and date and wear it for the rest of that day and the next.

I may change my watch if I’m going to an event that suggests a different style is more appropriate.

·

If I wore a dress watch to work, I usually switch out when I get home. If I wore a digital watch, I can wear it until I go to bed. I try not to wear a watch in bed.

·

Almost every day when I come back from work I change the watch to my daily driver(s) like Hanhart/Longines or Gshock, depending on afternoon activities. As you said off with formal clothes and into sweatpants and T-shirts.

·

No watch at home, that is what a chiming clock for.

·

Fine little things in every day life. yeahhh

·

I love changing watches but often come home late from work and am tired so playing with the kids for a short while then tv usually doesn’t necessitate a watch change. Sadly

·

Unless I am going somewhere in the evening and anticipate needing either something dressier or more casual, I wear the same ⌚ through the day too.

I pretty much will only change my ⌚ when I grow tired of it.

·

I’m retired, but I often change my watch to match whatever activity I’m engaged in at that time.

·

Yeah, I tend to wear a watch that's a bit tougher to work, unless I know for sure I won't have to touch a toilet snake or a drill, then maybe a slightly "nicer" watch. Then a different watch when I get home. If I'm at home all day I'll switch watches like 4 times, which slightly annoys my gf when she notices.
