Have you ever...

Alright people, the moment of truth. Your honesty is of utmost importance... Have you ever owned one of these brands? When I started collecting, I was not versed in watch brands, horological values etc. I bought what was advertised and ended up with some of each brands mentioned, not that there is anything wrong with it, some actually looked nice, others felt nice. I still own some (not telling you which). Which of these have you owned or still own?

None of the above…but plenty of Guess…Boss and other

·

No. I made most of my mistakes in an earlier era.

·

None of the above, but before I became interested in watches, there had been a period of a couple of years where my only watch was a Movado Museum quartz watch. It's definitely something that most enthusiasts seem to look down on, but I still love the design, and don't care what anyone else thinks.

Had plenty of fossil and guess watches back in the days…

·

No, luckily got into watches as an adult and was quickly warned against such brands

If you love it, then wear it. Easy moto to live by.

None, the closest is my Sternglas

Same!

·

Had a handful of Nixons and they were the coolest!

·

No but I bought a Swatch to wear to some big deal watch get together event I went to while on temp duty in NYC....lol. 😜

Hindsight 20/20 I should have gone with a MVMT.

·

No, none of those brands. I did fall victim once while uneducated, full of rum punch, sunburnt while on a cruise . . . I, sadly, bought a Movado.

·

Was gifted a DW. I may even wear it tomorrow, only the dogs here to pass judgement!

Sternglas…all hat no cattle.

I own 3 MVMT watches. Though I don't wear them anymore they are a part of my history of watch collecting and that's still important imo

·

First 4 were: LLBean Arnie clone, Gruen, LLBean Indiglo, Elgin pocket watch. Those 4 (and maybe a swatch or two) in that order got me from age 8 until about 22. Then cell phones started to gain popularity and I took a few years off from watches

·

No, but I have a Breil, which is an Italian fashion watch. I just like the look of it.

I have not. I got into watches as a young child and wore a very small quartz watch gifted to me by my grandparents. Ti this day it remains the only quartz watch I own. I didn’t really purchase any watches throughout my child hood, though I had a lot of time to research them. Once I was an adult, earning my own money, I stayed well clear of the fashion brands.

Great way to go about this journey.

It has sentimental value, these things should be cherished

My first gifted dress watch was a Guess a number of years ago. Then I got a Facebook ad for Vincero and tbh I thought they looked cool and bought into the hype. The particular Vincero I have I still like the look of, although it wasn't worth what I paid for it. Like many here, I'll always enjoy it as the start of my watch journey because it was the first watch I bought with my own money 😆

Same here, my Vincero watch was also bought from Facebook advertisement.

None of the brands above, but I have several Nixon watches. Although most are from my early days of collecting, I bought an automatic Nixon 42-20 within the last month.

·

TW Steel. But I have to say it doesn't actually suck. It keeps good enough time, I think it is a Ronda quartz, and I got the ladies model which was "only" 40mm 😎

You are correct, that is not even close to one. My mistake, forgot to say G-Shock wannabe.

And yet it looks like it went through some battles and came back alive.. well done!

·

None of the above.. although I have owned a Fossil and a friend of mine gave me a Perry Ellis (never wore it; still in the box; that was 15 years ago).

You never even opened the Perry Ellis? It can't be cooped up, you gotta let it fly, 😆.

Hah! Went through light living, and could hardly say it survived well.

·

I do have an Invicta Auto Pro Diver. Still, runs decent.

·

Never owned any. Never heard of any of them till I got into watches!
