Beater watch?

Do you keep your watch on your wrist no matter what ? While taking a shower? Cooking? Assembeling furniture?

My dad keeps his watch on his wrist even while welding steel 😅Thats my definition of a true beater watch 🙏

That watch sure has seen A LOT

Assembling furniture? Sure, unless i need to use the hammer with both of my hands.

Everything more impactful, G-shock.

Sheesh I thought my pro diver had a rough paper route, that thing is thrashed lol. I wear it working on cars professionally. But yeah I wear a watch all day every day, but ill take it off if I’m doing something where it could get snagged and hurt me, or really get in my way

It’s actually just pait 😅but it has a lot of scratches and some Steel dots from welding😂

·

I couldn’t tell but I was really hoping that was just paint overspray/ splatter 😅

Yes, I keep my watch on for everything. When I do something more demanding that climbing Everest or riding a Saturn V rocket or whatever I'll look into getting a tougher watch. For now I've never met a task it wasn't fit for.

Don't clean it. Looks like it has been through hell and back and survived 👍

·

In the not too distant future it will be a nice bracelet with a good back story

·

might be time for a light polish? 😜

The Explorer 2 is Perfect for that purpose! I need to get one myselfe🙏

·

I keep my watch on for MOST activities but a line has to be drawn somewhere. At some point it is abuse but people can do what they want with their property as long as they don't try to get it fixed under warranty.

·

Did you load a shotgun with rock salt and just go to town on this thing?

·

Lovely patina 😅

·

I keep mine on for everything I'm doing that day except showering. Not because I'm afraid of the water resistance, but because I want to wash my wrist 😂

·

G-shocks are made foe heavy lifting.

·

That watch has been shown a lot of love. A true GADA.

·

Nope- I stay away from hot water (like hot tubs) and showers- otherwise all good 👍

·

I try to only beat up the super cheap watches like the Casio's. Most of the time work is too violent to wear a watch. I almost tore one off the strap yesterday moving a treadmill I always called the ornament.

·

Beater?! Looks like it survived a volcanic eruption 🌋💥!

·

That poor Breitling now looks as if it is or was one of these blingy AliExpress watches. The ones which are advertised as „frosted silver“.

·

Yep, definitely, a beater/daily watch is on for me notwithstanding what the task is although that title, within my collection, is heating up between my Tudor Black Bay Chrono Panda and recently purchased Rolex Explorer II Polar 😅

·

That is pretty epic

·

With a clear crystal that look may become a thing. 🙃

·

It's like my old gran used to say: "Wearing one watch for everything is like re-using a condom; Of course you can do it, but it's going to be messy and look like s***."

Buy your dad a gshock, hopefully then he can pass down that breitling before it becomes a lump of solder.

·

Good lord this gives me anxiety but kudos to him

·

😂, I use mine even working on the farm, feeding the cows, pruning and other everyday tasks.

But if I need to do some rough work (fences, stone walls, gates), I'll throw it in the truck.

·

PS. It IS pretty cool - but jeez, I couldn't do that to anything worth more than £50.

·

No as there is no point

·

That's what I have my gshock for lol, though my smartwatch and casio have also seen a lot
