Did any Crunchies do a one and done on buying a watch like me?

I simply typed in “how do watches work?” on YouTube many years ago, bada boom, I become obsessed. Long story short, I just had to have the Omega Seamaster Professional 300m Diver in black. I just did. The history of it, the coaxial movement, Omega as a brand…I just had to have it. Bought it. Love it. Don’t have any other watches besides an Apple Watch primarily for work. I am still super interested in so many watches and movements and watchmakers. I can absolutely still go down a watch rabbit hole on a day off no problem. I just kind of found my one and it scratched my itch and I wear it everyday. Just wondering if this experience is a pretty common thing for people or I am in the lower percentage of watch people?

I have a couple of friends who are passionate about watches, got their Rolex (modern GMT Master and Datejust), and the only other watch they own are Casio’s. They have a bunch of magazines and books on the subject, but don’t feel the need to own… more.

Lol. That’s what I’m thinking too. One day, the dam breaks and I have a second mortgage to pay for my longtime hobby.

I'm so jealous of your ability to find contentment!

It was either go big with one or start a many watch collection. I did the former obviously. Might have randomly done something right. Now I think I’m starting a strap addiction though. We’ll see how that one goes.

It’s so pretty!! Love how the AR coating is good it looks like there isn’t even any glass on it! The hands are just floating in it, such a cool piece congrats!

Funny. This Casio for some reason has been calling to me.

Like I said before, @1watchguy is the smartest watch guy on WC! I only wish I could have one watch. Well-done sir! And not to mention an Omega SMP 300!

All kidding aside you have great control...

I want to be one and done. But… 😭

This is quite common in polite society. You, however, are on a watch forum. You do not belong here. This is a dangerous place.

·

Yeah that would be a no from me

·

I have one watch everyday until I change it for the one watch I wear everyday. Then I wear one watch everyday until......

@Vladislav has done this quite well.

Thanks @pj3c46, the watch and his story is pretty much the exact same to mine. It’s been more than 3 years now and I still have the one watch and loving it!

One and done?

Unfortunately no. I have 17 working watches and another 4 that need the movement replaced or need a new battery. I actually rotate through almost all of them. I also have a list of 10 others I’m wanting to buy, but not wanting to part with the money right now or pay the current price. I have never sold a watch, but I have thrown a few out that were too far gone to save and not valuable/collectible.

·

If only I could be happy with one…jealous.

As far as I'm concerned you win at watches. 🙌

I’m at 3 currently but looking for “the one” and I’m pretty sure I know what “the one” it is. I’ve wanted one since it first came out. The real question is do I go vintage and buy the 80s/90s version I fell in love with or go modern and wait for the call.

·

Yes, it also happens to be an omega

Bruv that is a beautiful piece ⌚️

Appropriate username haha

I keep going back to my 72 Timex. I wear it so much I’m kind of forcing myself to wear other watches. Although if I could get the one watch, that would change…

It sounds like either way you are winning. I would have totally gone vintage had I not fallen hard on the Seamaster. My buddy has all these crazy Sinns, old Speedmasters, and just cool vintage watches that I find myself in awe of. Thank you for the compliment on the watch! Much appreciated.

I feel you.

I suppose there is no need for us to own something to really appreciate it, and the more pieces we own the less wrist time each of them gets; at the end of the day, we only have two wrists.
