Tudor and Longines are crushing it lately

Just wondering the opinion of everyone. IMHO it just seems like these two brands are starting to become pretty refined and coming into their own. They have history and to say coming into their own after being around for so long might not be the right way of saying it. It just seems that they are really listening to what people want on their wrists. Looking at what they offer for the price, they seem to be the ones on the rise.

Both watches look great in pictures but are quite thick and slabsided at 14.6mm and 13.5mm respectively. I know I'm nitpicky but, for this kind of money, I would prefer a GMT thinner than the average diver watch in my collection. The 21mm lug width of the Zulu Time is also a bummer, as my nicer straps are 20-19-18mm. I hope the next version will improve on these points because I like the dial a lot otherwise.

If Longines made that in black pvd on a bracelet or Oris make a Pointer Date in black pvd those might be my grail watches.

The zulu time is stunning, my local AD are out of stock of the black and green,

Tudor is meh, Tudor are the most OK watches of the watch world, a bit boring, a bit bland but OK.

The 14.5 on the tudor is just way too much

I could maybe cope with the longines thickness as I have a 14mm diver, but with the elegant dressy design it clashes with that height way to much

Longines have been releasing some extremally nice watches in the last two years. However, the Tudor BB Pro and the Longines Spirit Zulu speak to two different type of customers.

I have been wanting to a Spirit Zulu in blue since it came out. However, the 42mm is too big for me. I was excited when they recently announced the 39mm since this is my preferred size. I was looking at pictures and photos of the 39mm and there was something that I did not like and I could not put my finger on it but eventually I did. The Spirit GMT has numbers on the dial, another set of numbers on the bezel, the polish ring on the dial and the accented second hand. The 39mm is a shrunk down version of the 42mm and all those numbers started to be too much in the space that a 39mm occupies. I then realize that I am a person that like simpler dials which was a revelation for me. I purchased a Tudor BB Pro the next day.

This is why I say the BB Pro and the Spirit Zulu speak to 2 different type of customer.

This is well said.

Absolutely agree! I am looking at a Longines Spirit and a Blue Dial Pelagos to add this year

I have a couple of the vintage Longines that i enjoy. My Tudors seem to get the most wrist time in that they arent crazy expensive and I think the Pelagos is the perfect tool watch. JMO
