It's time to CELEBRATE! Do you love it or hate it?

My gorgeous 41mm celebration dial Rolex officially arrived! Walked into my AD the day after watches and wonders and put my order in! This watch got a lot of hate when it first came out but I've been obsessed with it from the time of its release. Believe it or not it's the only colored dial I have in my watch collection. Call me crazy but there's just no comparison on wrist!

So, are you a celebration dial lover or hater?

No offense taken just curious what everyone thinks.

Stunning watch.

Thank you!

·

It's not for me, but I can se the appeal.

·

I love it. 👍 But it wouldn't be my first choice.

·

Certainly not a hater — neither Rolex or this festive dial are on my own personal wish list, but I do like the vim & zest this watch exudes!

·

I don’t hate it. Would never buy it, sorry.

·

I have to say that style is not for me.

·

I've not seen one in person yet, but as a fun watch, I like it.

Although not a deal breaker in the least, I cannot unsee what IDGuy pointed out.

·

Awesome, congratulations! I wrote about it when it first came out and I think it's super cool. Enjoy it 😍

·

It's very cool, but I could never pull it off.

I didn't see it, what did he say?

·

Love it!

·

Congratulations Caity. Excellent watch.

·

It’s great. I like how this OP is not as serious as its colleagues. It was a bit unexpected, and as the Milgauss has disappeared for now, this is the only one that likes partying. The puzzle dial has gone to Vegas, that’s a bit too much for me

im a h8r

·

That is one tasty watch! 😀

·

This has surprised me. When I saw them at release I wondered what Rolex were thinking, but pictured here in a bit of sunlight I can definitely see the appeal.

What really intrigues me is how a dial like this will age, and in 20 years time what kinda colouration will have developed.

BRB time machine.

·

Sorry, Rolex trying to do soul just doesn’t work for me. They’re too clinical.

·

Each to their own but I think it looks a little bit Mickey Mouse to me, not at all classy looking. It's got a bit of a Swatch vibe going on there.

·

I love it! A huge congratulations 👏🏻

There are 2 red bubbles touching each other at the 3 o'clock position. No other bubble has the same color touching.

And why is what IDguy point out a problem for you?

And why is what IDguy point out a problem for you?

Because it is a flaw that can't be unseen. But as said earlier, perhaps as a reply to someone, it's not a deal breaker for me, but it is an annoyance.

That's what I am trying to understand - what IS the flaw?

The fact that there are two bubbles of the same color touching each other. That is a flaw in the dial aesthetics...unless the dial designer comes out and says that was done on purpose for xyz reason.

No it is not... You want it to be to somehow make it seem special but it is not. It's like saying that the bitten apple is a design flaw unless the logo designer says it was done on purpose. The watch was designed and it's a part of the design, that's all

This is a design flaw but sporting another company's logo on hour hands of half of your watches (meaning Mercedes hands) ain't? To me Mercedes hands are one of the biggest design flaws of rolex

Your arguments are uninformed. The "Mercedes hands" are what others started to call it, not Rolex, and it has nothing to do with the car company. It was likely a specific design choice based on longevity/strength needed for the lume fill. Also, the Apple logo was a specific design choice based on clearly differentiating the apple logo (actually it's second iteration from the original Isaac Newton one) from being mistaken as a cherry. Hence my statement stands that if Rolex comes out and explains why they intentionally have two bubbles of the same color touching each other, then it would be a design choice rather than in my opinion an unintentional aesthetic flaw as I had mentioned.

Regardless, I don't care a huge amount about it as it's not a deal breaker and only mentioned that it is something that I cannot unsee once seen. You do you and I'll do me. I'm disengaging since I feel that this may devolve or become unproductive.

Cheers! 🍺

"The "Mercedes hands" are what others started to call it, not Rolex, and it has nothing to do with the car company" - Really? Oh my... LMAO and you think I didn't know this? "It was likely a specific design choice based on longevity/strength needed for the lume fill" - not convincing because a lollipop or a square (for some weird reason called a snowflake) certainly holds more luminosity. "Also, the Apple logo was a specific design" - that is exactly what I was trying to tell you in the first place, that the touching bubbles is NOT a design flaw... "actually it's second iteration from the original Isaac Newton one" - WHAT? Newton ran an electronics company? He trademarked an apple-shaped logo? Must be some good sht you're puffing... "differentiating the apple logo from being mistaken as a cherry" - WHAAAT? What kind of an idiot would confuse a cherry with an apple? And how being a bitten fruit draws that distinction - it could just as well be mistaken for a bitten cherry then, in your world I suppose.

Yes actually Rolex is working on an explanation for you as we speak...

That’s a happy watch

Very cool, I have the green dial OP. I just relocated back to the New England area which AD do you go to I need to find a new one in the area
