Yes I did! Stauer “1930 Dashtronic”

I bought the STAUER “1930 Dashtronic” on a whim, thinking I would return it after I checked it out. Well, I opened the box and was stunned on how beautiful it struck me! Lol! I put it on and it was soooo comfortable. So of course I had to take it out into the real world, and people LOVED this watch! It is so unique, people can’t help but ask about it. I really enjoy this watch. Yes, the movement is a cheap one, but it is automatic and yes, there is no real jump dial. It is a fun wear! I am glad to have this in my collection. :)

There is no head shaking emoji to use...so I will default to a gif (since Rick is a Marvel fan as I am as well)...

Wait, the totally reduced price is now $20 higher than it was a few months ago? Interesting. It's also interesting that they put an automatic movement in something without a seconds hand, er display. I guess ye olde display case back is totally de riguer now, even novelty displays. Well, I think my Mr Jones Watch was about the same price and a quartz, so I'll shut up now.

Oh, it says 8:35 in the photo if anyone can't figure it out.

I had the same watch around 15 years ago. But the brand was Alpha, which was an early version of Paganisteeldivealiexpress homage watches.

Idk. Ones man trash is another man’s treasure. In my defense, I only paid $99 for it. I really enjoy wearing it! It’s fun and different…

It’s easy to read the time once you get the hang of it. Believe it or not, Gucci had a watch that looked very similiar to this one..I also saw an ad for a micro brand watch that was similiar to this..just a few weeks ago! The Stauer prices fluctuate constantly. Once you buy something, they send you catalogues and discount coupon codes…I ended up getting another watch free! And another one for $15…lighting didn’t strike twice though. The free watch ended up being crap, even though I love the dial on it and the other one I got was gold plated..it’s actually is an okay watch, but it looks gold plated. Lol.

You don't subscribe to "Car & Driver" by any chance? I've seen this watch advertised in this fine publication more than once.

Exactly...I just wanted to share my experience because it was not as good as yours.

I am not a watch snob (anyone who has read my posts will know that), but I really dislike when the watch doesn't function as described.

Chinese watches are a gamble...if they don't cost too much then it's not much of a gamble.

I just received this PD AK Project homage and I couldn't be happier with it...great deal for only $90...

Glad your Stauer is working out for you.

I really like some of your other choices: Orient Bambino and Bulova Surfboard.

I have a Stauer tank watch. It's incredible how something that inexpensive can appear to be fancy. I actually like that watch you have. It's cool and different.

This just arrived from Ali for $15.00 CDN

I've been eyeing that watch for a while and it keeps popping up on random watch ads. could you do a review on it, please?

When your belly gets in the way of seeing the poundage (kilos for non-'Muricans) on the scale, just hold up your wrist to remind yourself you eat too much? Is that the gist of this thing?

No. I didn’t even know that magazine was still around! I saw it on Instagram one drunken night. That’s why I thought I would send it back. But, I actually fell in love with it.

Thank you! It is a fun watch. I really wanted something different, and I got it!

Thank you! I love this red “mission to Alaska” watch. I was actually thinking about getting this one! I saw it reviewed 0n “just one more watch” a couple days ago. I actually bought the Pagani design Omega “Speedmaster” homage, and I really love that watch. It gets plenty of compliments and honestly is one of my favorite watches, even though it is a homage. I liked it so much I bought the Pagani design Omega “Seamaster” and, you guessed it, another great watch, I couldn’t believe the quality and a display back on the watch! For only $119! But I saw this red one you have and it is definitely on my list of watches to get. I think mine will go on a red strap. :)

What's the lug width on that please?

·

Nice. I never thought I'd see a mechanical weighing machine that small (just kidding!) 😛

Congratulations on your purchase and enjoy it it in good health.

·

looks like a parking meter. I like it.

Love it!

Looks cool. I’ve wondered about this watch for a long time but only read bad things about this brand. Glad to see something positive about this. 👍👍

Yes, it's still around. The letters to the editor section is full of people complaining about EVs, and then there are inexpensive watch ads.

20mm lug width - standard size

Funny, I saw somebody wearing this in a NJ Starbucks this pas weekend. I knew it looked familiar, but I couldn't get a close enough look to see the brand name, but this was definitely it. One mystery solved for the week at least!

I see, I see. Somebody else who notices the watch ad right after the letters to the editor section. 😉

Last time I had a subscription was calendar year 2016. There definitely was a lot of moaning and groaning about electrics replacing ICE powered vehicles. I enjoyed print media just for the sake of getting something in the mail, but its impractical from a business perspective. Ink and paper can never out-scoop a story on the internet, and stories are broken instantly as opposed to slowly leaking out over time.

Same here. But I actually really like it. It looks good/better in person, in my opinion..and it is comfortable to wear. It’s unique too, so it feels like you have something that no one else has. If you ever get one..just wait until it goes on sale. I got it for $99…which at that price..it is charming.

I just purchased the same watch and I'm also enjoying it. I showed it to a non watch enthusiast friend who is familiar with my collection and he said that it might be his favorite. I second that it is comfortable to wear even though I will most likely replace the OEM leather band.
