They are an offshoot of the Wempe jewellery chain - originally from Hamburg, but with stores in the major cities in Germany (and New York). They used to have a store in London, but unfortunately closed it just as I was getting into watches. I think they have a number of models which are pleasing to the eye - usually on the classic/simple side. They are manufactured in Glashütte to (German) chronometer spec.
I managed to pick up this one pre-owned.
I agree with (most of) the above. Watch crime in London is totally overhyped. I live on the outskirts and travel in twice a week. Unless it’s a Rolex, then you don’t need to worry (even then, my friend at work lives in Central London and wears a gold datejust daily, without a care).
If you’re into Seiko, then definitely visit the Grand Seiko boutique on Bond Street. They have GS downstairs and all the Seiko range upstairs. They’ve been very welcoming and helpful both times that I’ve been in there.
I remember going to an FA Cup quarter-final game between Liverpool and Brentford at Anfield with my dad in 1989. Bees were then in third division - we lost 4 - 0! The trip and the journey up on the coach has stuck with me though!
I know. I normally filter out all the other countries, and I think Chrono 24 could be better at enabling you to do this (eg on the personal feed). However, there’s some brands for which there are very few available locally.
