Good choice on the Speedy Moonphase. Definitely agree. Rolex should rein in their ADs as it ruins their own reputation and customers’ experiences. ADs always claim to sell to end customers and enthusiasts and not flippers yet BNIB watches often end up in the grey market. The sheer lies. Either they are supplying known flippers or grey dealer pals. Pfft…
Their sob stories garner no sympathy among us watch lovers. Will not shed a tear if they go bust. Personally one of them wanted me to buy a Zenith before being considered for a Rolex. I said no and bought something considerably cheaper.
Rolex CEO calls the watch brands displaying in Switzerland but not at Watch and Wonders, “pirates”. Very snobby comment to be honest. Hahaha. I have watches in the list of 54 brands and also outside of the 54 brands. Will buy what I like. And microbrands are not pirates. Some of them like Laco have real heritage and are underrated. Sinn is also definitely not a pirate. What about Omega and other Swatch brands who refuses to be at Watch and Wonders? Are they less affordable than some of the 54 brands? Lol. Brands at watch and wonders are not the be all, end all final list of brands solely worth getting.
Well the ADs like WOS UK have been blaming poor profits and sales revenue due to lack of precious metal watches being shipped by Rolex. Guess the new push to precious metal watches is the answer to that? How about the AD fix their sales practices then and stop turning customers away with silly games. I digress… underwhelming launch to be honest. Tudor stole the show with the Diet Coke GMT. 😂
German watches are underrated. Have the same Laco Kiel.2 in Schwarz and have been wearing it almost everyday for months instead of my swiss timpieces. Great quality, scratch resistant and good accuracy. Awesome lume and legibility too. Here are my Lacos. Love the brand. Been going for more underrated brands these days. Just can’t justify the mark up in luxury brands any more.
Nothing wrong with sw200. You can even get sw500 chronos for below $2,000. There is more to a watch than just the movement and Selittas are reliable workhorses which are cost effective to service. The design, brand, heritage, fit and comfort also matters on top of the movement. Most importantly, you must like the watch of course!
