Old watch ads
I work in advertising and I often see old ads from the 50s and 60s (and later) which are hilarious when looked at with todays lens.
They’d of course never run today, and nor should they: but this is the first one I’ve seen for a watch and from IWC to boot!

I used to ride motorcycles with a large group of women who might argue that claim. Ghods I miss that bike...........

I’ve never been a huge of fan of IWC but I need one of these
Actually, that ad is from 90s when it was at least controversial to make such claims. My guess is the ad was published on a magazine with overwhelmingly male readers and keep in mind that IWC does not make any ladies watches.
With more and more female MINT students, maybe it's time for an IWC Ingenieurin, but on the other hand watches should be unisex anyway these days.
I like those old school ads. Maybe that's the reason why my watch collection has more dates than me. Ah no, it's because I've been married to someone who fortunately shares my sense of humour for more than 24 years now.
The watch is gorgeous, the ad is sexist. As a woman I can only say thank God times are changing 😅
