Which watches do you wear at work?

As an young engineer I like to wear my Sinn 556 or my Flightmaster at work because they feel so technical to me. The Seiko feels like an useful instrument. Of course I never use it for caluculation or something... nobody does.

In which job do you work and which watch is right for you?

PS From my point of view in german industry you see a lot of Breitling in management positions. It fits also very well in my opinion.

none , So when I ask for a pay rise for more watches they cant say no ;)

My dedicated work watch, purpose built. I went with a flat sapphire, for scratch resistance (obviously) and so it doesn't protrude too much, a 12-hr bezel to track Zulu time for paperwork, and big chunky hands combined with Flieger B style dial for increased readability. I chose the Seiko 5 case rather than the SKX case, because a screw down crown was not needed. 100m WR is plenty to handle the rain, and I can easily give the crown a few turns over the weekend to keep the movement going. Tropic strap to help vent sweat, since I'm outside a lot.

I'm a teacher, so the only time telling device that matters in my world is the wall clock that tells my students when they can leave.

I wear watches to work every day, but they are essentially nothing more than jewelry.

Just to be clear. I don't need my watch for my job neither. There is always my phone or laptop which tells the time

·

I mostly wear a Marathon GSAR to keep it low key. This week I've pulled out a few pieces I haven't worn in a long while.

·

As an older engineer, I wear whatever the hell I want.

this one mostly, it‘s a very understeted Rolex and almost nobody notices it as such which I like :)

I work as a boom man, which is essentially a modern day log driver. I wear a Citizen Promaster diver as my work watch. I probably have my arms in the river multiple times a week if not multiple times a day. Plus there is always a chance I misstep and end up in the river myself.

I do product support for an aircraft parts company.  I rotate through my collection but I usually wear a diver.

·

I work in product design and manufacturing and also photography and other stuff.

This is the kinda stuff I'd wear.

Digital timers are a must.

I am a truckdriver and with that comes some manual labor, so I usually wear a G-Shock so I don't have to worry about scratches and stuff. After work I change to something else.

·

Pretty much all in my collection except for Apple Watch. That I wear to sleep. it’s the most expensive alarm clock I have.

·

Typically a Guinand; these days mainly the model Starfighter II. I work in engineering/sales, so need a robust watch, for timing, and being allowed in potential explosive zones.

15 watches....15 choices...but I really only wear seven of them at work...no, not at the same time.

I work a 5-4-9 schedule, so nine work days in a two week pay period.

On the first Monday of the pay period, one watch gets worn, then a different watch the second Monday.  Same situation on Thursday.

On Tuesdays I wear the same watch

On Wednesdays I wear the same watch

On the Fridays I work, I wear the same watch.

Seven watches for nine workdays.

I'm a simple paper pusher, so I wear all of my watches at work

I wear all of mine: some Tags, Seiko, Phoibos' (Phoibi?😃), Nite, Casio, Citizen and some other microbrands. I only walk around with a clipboard pointing at stuff so nothing too arduous. 😁

·

I work in Railway engineering so the watch I wear the most is my Sinn 556, accurate and definitely robust enough to handle any weather or knock’s thrown at it.

If not the Sinn I’ll generally grab my Damasko, very similar in design and another robust watch that can take a beating 👍

I’m a chemist, so I wear the Ball Engineer III Marvelight in the lab.

Ball was founded on safety, so it reminds me to think before I act. It has a screw down crown and is made of 904L steal so it is more corrosion resistant to the chemicals with which I work. It‘s anti-magnetic which protects it from my instruments. It has some shock resistance and is COSC certified. The phosphorous tridium lume is pretty damn cool too!

Love it! If that is the Caring edition how do you like it? Is it a more subtle look in person or a bit more bold?

thanks!

·

Thanks!  It is the caring edition, 40 mm. The indices “boldness“ changes quite a bit depending on lighting. Each white tritium tube is outlined with a thin frame in the same color as the tritium illumination. This is not obvious at a glance in moderate light, but is under scrutiny. It looks fairly muted and taken as a whole it looks a little like patina.

In outdoor lighting the colored frame stands out as multiple colors and of course in dim conditions the tritium illuminates quite colorfully. When dark, you get quite the show!

In all, I wasn’t sure I would like all the color before purchasing, but I really do! It’s a little bold for an everyday watch, but I have it on the wrist more than any of my other watches.

I work in a kitchen and mostly rock a gshock.

Just perfect. Sometimes I forget that there are real pilots or divers out there

·

For me it's my G shock mud man. You can put it through the ringer and wipe it off and keep going.👍
