Great pick, an Aerospace is always the right choice.

Here is it's younger brother on duty.

Here's my beloved Citizen. It used to be my one and only ever since my father passed it down after retiring from the Air Force. Wore it for many years, through flight school and now that I work for a major I have dove deep into the watch game with some heavy hitters.

The old Citizen no longer gets any wrist time. It has been retired to the watch box. It comes out to get some sun to keep it running every once in a while. It has never been serviced but still works as it did since day 1. They're amazing timepieces.

Under bright light it looks grey but in a darker environment it is more black. Your AD is right, the official name for this dial is Volcano Black.

As far as the watch is concerned it is amazing. I wear it almost on a daily basis, mainly for flying and during layovers but I also feel like it dresses up better than my other watches. I no longer have the Explorer 1, but I have the Explorer II and for suit and tie affairs I usually opt for the Evo. It's a great daily and all-rounder I can't recommend it enough.

There was a rumour there might be a new model released this year, but I've also heard it might not come until next year so who knows!

I would've said the Explorer 1 but I just sold it to get the Exp. II Polar so that would be it now.

I wouldn't recommend them for high value items. Their customer service isn't known to be very friendly and their warranty policies are utter crap. They'll make you jump through hoops to honor their warranty.

They provide their own warranty, items bought through them will not come with manufacturer warranty, if that is important to you. If you decide to return an item you'll be charged s restocking fee. So use them at your own risk.

Achieved MY ideal Air, Land, Sea collection. Technically the Air also includes space, which I've seen the Aerospace Evo do with some astronauts. Aeros...
