Watch Wearing - Above or Below the Wrist Bone?

Curious where everybody wears their on their wrist. I have always worn it below the bone. Just seems to be more comfortable, but from what I've read I am in the minority. I just got my first Tudor and it was uncomfortable wearing below the bone - to the point I was reconsidering my purchase. I thought maybe it was the band - and it still me be? Once I started wearing it above the bone it was much more comfortable - so it's a keeper! I'm still getting used to wearing it above the bone.

FYI - I just put on an aftermarket bracelet and that may be it? Need to go back to the OEM bracelet and see if that is the same.

Above for me. But what Tudor did you purchase?

·

Not sure which side this is but it's comfortable

Right on top of the bone 😭

Above with a touch of overhang on the bone.

Above and clear of the bone

Oldmanwatches - that is above the wrist bone in my terminology.

I just purchased the Tudor GMT with the opaline dial - love it!

This is below the bone ...

This is the aftermarket jubilee I am trying ...

I wear it above or on the bone

·

I've always worn my watch above the bone but it works itself down during the day.

·

Mostly above with a strap, mostly below with a bracelet since it’s pretty loose with a bracelet.

·

I wear all mine below the bone. Try loosening it a little, my test is to be able to slide my index finger below between the clasp and my wrist. One finger only; this seems to be the perfect fit for me on just about every watch.

Bone!? What bone? 🤨

·

I used to wear it below, but found out it was more common to wear it above, so I switched. I always thought it looked weird, but the range of movement I have now is great, and it doesn't look weird to me anymore.

I never realized this until now but I guess I also wear below the bone.

·

Above

I think that should be a rule.

Or an unwriten rule. 🤨

Meybe it is.😅

·

Above the bone- I started out wearing my black bay 58 below but noticed that the crown would dig into the back of my hand. Eventually, the digging formed a callus. Been a revelation since moving above the bone, both in comfort and look.

·

Above, for reasons stated above. It’s more comfortable, more range of motion for your hand, it’s safer if you fall, and, IMO, it’s visually looks better.

I subscribe to the notion of “to each his own” though. So do whatever feels best for you.

Below for me.

·

Above! Started off below, but watches always felt uncomfortable, with the crown digging into the back of my wrist.

·

Below the bone. For those who talk about the crown digging into your hand, I wear my watch on my right wrist and don’t have this problem 🤷‍♂️

·

Above when not moving (dinner, desk etc), below slightly loose when moving

·

1. Preference & 2. Shape of arm determines

Image

this ultimately. Either way would be okay for me personally but shape of my arm doesn't allow for above the bone.

·

Depends on the watch really. Some higher up, some lower down.👍

·

Both which ever feels right. 🤷🏻‍♂️

·

Above the wrist bone for sure

Many years ago (so many I can't remember which watch), the crown kept biting the back of my hand when I bent it back. I moved the watch above my wrist-bone and have never looked back. It solved the original problem and also made it better for washing my hands and not worrying about getting it wet.

·

It's hot where I live. So I wear it loose and it falls below.

Reading these posts, it seems some above-the-boners are more prescriptive than us belowers. I'm easy, really. I even like quartz.

Here's my mid-size Seiko quartz from the 1980s to prove it. Below the bone, of course. Noob here, saying hello. Buenos días a todos.
