You go into a Rolex AD (authorized dealer) and ask them to put you on the list.

I have tried so many times) they say they dont put people on the waiting list anymore… Abusrd situation… 😵‍💫

It’s not necessarily a que at all. The only brand I know that just goes down the list is VC. Other than that it has to do with spend history, your story, and the WHY the associate should plead your case against the other 200 people that month asking for a panda Daytona, to the store director and Rolex manager. To be honest getting a call for a steel Daytona in any color without a minimum spend history of 75k or more plus at a bare minimum having annual spend history (more like biannually or quarterly) is pretty much null. Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you just register your inquiry and pray to the watch gods, you will probably wait your whole life for that watch…. Then die and still never have it. Good luck!

Then go to the same AD you have spend history with and saddle up for the ride.

The simple answer is spend a truckload of money on non Rolex stuff at an AD. 🤣🤣

Totally understand this… But there are Rolex stores that do that) For example when i went in to the Rolex Store in Prague they said there are no watches to sell at all. Which means there is no possibility to buy anything or any watch, because simply everything is kinda sold out. I know people there are runors , when people are selling their place in the queue… (maybe there is an option like that… but need names of those people 🤣) the other side of the moon are the stores located in some small towns… I was in Spain in a very little village (don’t remember the name of that viage anymore) but they had an official rolex store there. I went in and ask about purchasing a date just in steel with jubilee bracelet, rhodium dial and and a white gold basel. They told me they can get it for me in a week time, but i had a flight next day and couldn’t make that order, i believe there is an opportunity there to get on the waiting list. But of course all of that said is related to additional expenses, such as going there, hotel, food, flight, waiting and bla bla bla. Watches like date just can be purchased around 14000 usd from chrono24 which saves you time and money if you do the math for calculating the expenses for your trip and time spending at this kinda village…

All I say is good luck. With my local AD'S it's impossible to get the Daytona at retail unless you spend 10's of thousands a year and no waiting lists available. I've been waiting on a 41mm DJ wimbledon for 18 months and that's not even at pepsi or daytona level.

That's why people hate the Rolex game, including myself

Buy something else from a company who care about customers 🙏🏼

·

As others said its very unlikely to happen,

Unfortunately rolex AD'S are the worst and unless you are a very regular customer they won't even entertain the idea. Why sell you one when they can sell the guy who will happily buy numerous others aswell?

·

Hahahahaha

·

If You really really want one then just go pre-owned and they may also have recently newish ones. There are a lot of reputable pre-owned locations in your. Pride and pinion will probably have one also Watchfinder and Co. In London... Unfortunately, unless you are the top celebrity of your country or the leader of your country, you're not getting what you want. So look for other alternative routes to get what you want. IMHO

Call the AD, use an English accent, and say you are Ed Sheeran

After a lot of research, this is the only legit way to possibly get ahead of the line. But it does have it's cautions. Just FYI, this is my own video but I promise not clickbait. But even then, it will be hard:

The Daytona is one of the models that still command a premium over the used market, so flippers are pushing hard for it.

Good luck!

I hear they prefer sheep actually ;)

Damn, I don't have sheep-sacrificing kind of money!

What I picked up from doing research (and by that I mean casually consuming content online) is that for the most part, for most ADs, the waitlist does not really exist. The so-called waitlist is a polite "go away now please" gesture to end the conversation.

Some ADs may have a waitlist but it's a list in their heads of preferred customers. In order for one to become a preferred customer, of course one has to give them a lot of business. Again, this is just "research". I don't know any of this for a fact.

But it makes sense to me from a business perspective. If something is scarce, you give it to your favorites (who have already demonstrated their loyalty to you and put money in your pocket).

Where it all falls apart for me is the first transaction. The customer may not always be right but they should always eat first. You have a business, I'm a customer. You take care of me FIRST then I'll take care of you. That's how you build a relationship. But I as the customer should come first.

The problem with Rolex ADs is that I, as a customer, can't have an initial "throwaway" transaction for relationship-building purposes because the prices are prohibitively exorbitant already. Most Rolex buyers probably already know a specific model, reference number, color and material combination they want before even stepping into an AD. Probably. So that first transaction would've been the watch they actually wanted. Forcing them to buy a watch they didn't want just so someday they might be deemed worthy of the watch they did want is despicable.

Sure, getting a Daytona is not a right. And while I may agree that the ADs have all the power to bestow a scarce commodity upon whoever they want for whatever whimsical reason they have, my threshold for that game is very low.

I eat first. If you don't agree, I won't force myself into your club. I'll find another club that will be happy to allow me to eat first.

I'm puzzled by this behavior. Some people here appear to have the financial means and self-assurance to succeed and spend good money on these little gadgets that we love so much. Why do you allow salespeople from Rolex to humiliate you? Why not simply disregard their toxic behavior and just turn away towards nicer salespersons/brands? I find it difficult to reconcile these two concepts 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Completely agree. I wrote a comment here about customers needing to eat first. Different people do have different thresholds. You and I may not stand for salespeople acting like they're high priests bestowing upon us commoners gifts from heaven but I can see how many others are willing to tolerate it to get their precious Submariner.

Though I haven’t gotten the call from my AD, she was professional and polite. But you are 100% right. While I don’t mind waiting for a watch, I would never suck up to anyone to be sold a watch.

As far as the Panda Daytona goes, I've asked both ADs I've gotten Rolex from, but I doubt I'll ever get the call. Maybe I'll get lucky when I retire, and one of them will make it available. I love my Polar Explorer though, it's easily my most worn watch, and all the Daytona would do is take time from that and not sure at this point, I'd want that. Doubt I'll have to decide though.

1) Win an Academy Award

2) Become an elected official of any major US city and "Friends" will show you their support

3) Purchase $300,000.00 plus of jewelry a year for five years from an AD and then politely beg

4) Invade & Conquer Switzerland and just take one from your factory = your country your stuff!

5) Win Wimbledon, an F1 Championship, the World Cup, the Masters or the World Series of Poker

6) Date a Super Model who's tired of oversized watches on her tiny wrist & resize the bracelet to your wrist

7) Get lucky and win the lottery - see #3

Yep, might be impossible unless the current situation drastically changes or you spend a ton.

I was on the list for a Pepsi for 4 (maybe 5 now) years and counting at an AD where I purchased 2 other watches. I considered making all my purchases from this AD to improve my chances until they did something similar with a new Tudor release (basically said he "might" have one in the back and he came back and said while he didn't have one "for me", he offered me a different Tudor they also didn't have in the window and said they could offer that one to a "customer like me.")

I didn't want that watch so said no thanks and left but a friend of mine later said I screwed up by not playing the game and getting the watch that was offered. If that's the game, I'm not playing.

Yip don’t buy what you don’t want. If you are having to buy watches you don’t want to get the watch you really want, I’d just go to Chrono24 etc and buy it there. It’ll be the same price give or take (Pepsi at retail plus a watch or 2 you don’t want)

·

The waitlist is just so you don’t call them everyday asking if the received a shipment today. Or hustle you to buy other things to “move you name up the list” it’s all fugots 🤌🏾

·

Well seeing as you apparently need to spend tons of time and money to be considered possibly worthy, why not look second hand?

·

There are no waitlists... can´t believe, that some people still believe this hoax. They sell what they want to sell, to the customers they choose.
