Okay, so this is something I’m quite excited about. I always said that my first mechanical chronograph would be a special watch for me, probably a graduation watch of some sorts, and that it’d be a Speedmaster. But then I thought to myself; «that’s too long a wait, I want one now».
So I did:
And I am head over heels in love!
I found an article from Fratello about it, and seems that it’s kind of a mysterious and not-known model. Cool!
Being quite interested in mechanical watches, I had to open the caseback and have a look..
And wow. The coloumn wheel Valjoux 92 is gorgeous! I first looked at a Heuer with the same calibre, but it was 4 times the price, and probably 4 times as beautiful..
What was your first chronograph? Doesn’t have to be mechanical! 😄
As always, thanks for the read! Cheers🍻

My favourite chronograph is also a mechanical watch. It’s my automatic Norqain Adventure Sport Chrono Day/Date.
Great looking watch and very interesting too!
Very nice piece, more like interesting than a Speedmaster in my opinion

Thanks! Yes, I like a mysterious watch

This is more niche I guess.. you see Speedys everywhere
The first mechanical chrono sure hits differently. I took a bit of a different path and went pre-owned microbrand to get the best price on a top grade ETA 2894-2-powered watch I’ve ever seen:
It’s crazy that this Straton carries the same movement as Bell&Ross, TAG Heuer and Chopard watches that cost many thousands of dollars.
Beautiful watch and beautiful photographs!

Oh wow! That’s really impressive. And what a piece, really stunning and unique case shape!
Might have to look down that preowned microbrand-alley myself🫣
Beautiful watch and beautiful photographs!
Thank you! I really appriciate it 🥰
Beautiful watch!
My first chronograph was my Oris tt3

That’s really nice. Love the woven carbon fiber dial and the golden accents!🍻
Nice watch!
I only have one chronograph, and it is a Sea-Gull 1963 Era Edition.

I’ve eyed that one for a good while now, and was seriously considering it. A lot for you money I think! Great look, too!
Nice watch! Mine was the Edifice EQB-1100D
Mine was this vintage Seiko Panda 6138-8020, from 1977.

Thank you. There’s a fun story behind it. I actually repaired it.
What year is your yema? It’s super cool. I’m guessing mid 1950s?

Wow, awesome! What was the fault?
The Yema is somewhat unknown age-wise, but many sources say mid 60s.

That’s gorgeous! I think my next watch’ll be a Seiko 6139.
That Yema is Yummy - nice acquisition and congratulations.
Citizen - Blue Angels
Hamilton - Tachymiler (my son in law stole it from me... 😎)
Breitling - Premier B01
Omega - Speedmaster
Honestly, that Yema is nicer than the Speedmaster and on par with the Breitling/Bentley

Thank you so much! That B01 is so, so nice in my opinion, it fits you nicely!🤩

The watch had been dropped by the previous owner and the upper pivot of the oscillating pinion sheared off. It was a super fun project to repair. The watch originally belonged to a friend of mine, so it's one I'll never sell.

That’s so cool! I can imagine that it’d be impossible to sell, so best keep it as you say!
Congrats! These things tend to multiply over time, fair warning...lol
