Sooooo... I gonna be a grammar Nazi. I apologize.

How does your watch help?

I’m dyslexic lol

·

Engineer.

How the watch helps:

Tells accurate time.

Looks cool.

Helps with boredom

Hourly chime on my Casio's comes in handy.

Casio Royale is great for traveling to different time zones.

·

Not my job but there was once a garbage man on Reddit that used to wear his two tone datejust to work haha. He was cool, shout-out if he’s on this board!

·

One aspect of my job is to train managers to report out to executives very succinctly. As part of weekly practice we meet at a group to do timed report outs. Previously I utilized elapsed time bezel to do this. Other than that, my watches are part of how I present myself to clients.

·

I’m a night shift cop.. heavy lume and a simple, uncomplicated dial are key. When something happens I’ll need to document the time for my report. So when I’m multitasking a bunch of stuff I can’t be searching for the current time because of an unclear dial.

·

Military aircraft mechanic & periodically aircrew. I make frequent use of multi alarms and timers, in addition to being punctual

·

Also an Engineer. I usually check it for the date before filling out an OSO or submittal review or something, so nothing extraordinarily groundbreaking there.

On the flip side I also have a side business as a landscape photographer. I got the G-Shock tide watch for that to keep tabs on the tide chart to plan my compositions and make sure I don’t get stuck while out shooting.

It also has the moonphase and sunrise/sunset times which is helpful if I am trying to conserve phone battery while in the field.

My work watch is the Ball Engineer III Marvelight Caring Edition, pictured below with my EDC.

As a biochemist, this COSC tool tells time accurately and is calibrated like every other instrument in my lab. The 1000 gauss anti-magnetism protects it against the 100s of instruments I work with and their magnetic fields. The 904L steel provides a greater level of corrosion resistance than the traditional 316, and the screw down crown keeps the fumes out of the movement. You don’t want to know what these chemicals do to acrylic crystals and resin cases.

The RR counter seconds and the engraving of a steam engine on the case back are constant reminders that Ball was founded on safety (critical for a scientist to remember). Finally the tritium tubes providing constant illumination are a great chemistry trick!

Also, I’m far sighted in middle age, so the cyclops is critical for me to see the date which I add to the dozens of papers I sign each day.

·

German Army Scout, my watch helps me to be in time so I am not getting yelled at for being late. If that makes sense. 😂

·

Physician Assistant/Associate. Use a watch to check pulses pretty often as there aren’t clocks in the patient rooms. Date complications are helpful as I have to constantly sign paperwork. Being able to subtly check the time without bringing my phone allows me to stay on track with my schedule without being rude or disengaged with my patients. And if it’s a particularly difficult day, the “beauty complication” is a wonderful momentary distraction 😄

·

I do sometimes have to use force at work. Holding people down for example. And I have to document time of day and duration. And you can imagine it's not very practical to start with your fiddle phone or make sure you see a wallclock when arms and legs are flying. Also if I have to give any sedatives I have to note the time.

Also date function for singing stuff and other such is very useful.

Use a watch to crack the whip on my underlings 😂

An (American) Army buddy of mine told me that a scouts mission is to “move out and draw fire.” So careful out there!

Thanks for what you do!

Thank YOU!

What watch accomplishes this for you?

I’ve got several that let me see the time fast & clearly but if I had to pick one I’d say my Sangin Professional is the easiest to read. I’m looking forward to adding a simple Panerai to the mix, and I’m guessing that will be perfect.

I'm a Water Regulations Officer. I use my watch to tell me when it's 4pm so I can log the f**k off.

I'm a professional poker player and I use my watch for measuring playing sessions, being aware of how much time left I have in a tournament break, and, I use the seconds hand in close spots as a substitute for a random number generator.

And off course sometimes your cards are so good that you'll want to bet in the pot even the valuable watch you have on your wrist 😂 (joking ofc, this only happens in movies with terrible poker scenes).

Probably the coolest profession in here

Gorgeous pics! Thanks for sharing

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Speaking of doses, I’m a nurse. More specifically, I manage the nurses on a few psychiatric units. I’m always running between my office, the units, and the rest of the hospital for meetings, situations, etc. It’s helpful having the watch to stay on time when things are moving fast.

When I’m back on the floor, my watch helps me time tests (timing bezel), assessment intervals, documentation deadlines, and simple stuff like taking a heart rate.

Not sure about that, have you seen the Water Regulations Officer post?

·

I am unfortunately disabled. But I have plenty of watches around to remind me how much time I spend sitting on my ass! 😅🤣🤪 Jokes aside- I do use my chronographs to time the intervals between when I took my medication‘s last. Otherwise they’re just accessories/jewelry. I used to be a pilot and would use a GMT or Chronograph in the cockpit all the time, but no longer. When I was a pilot I had always aspired to own a Breitling- until they partnered with Bentley. Those ghastly watches soured me on the brand. I should’ve bought a NaviTimer before I had to put up my wings. 🥹😕

I expedite service at a fine dining restaurant. I track times on orders and make sure everything is going as it should. Without getting into too complicated an explanation checking my watch constantly is part of the game and that watch should be as close to ‘atomic time’ as possible.

I thank you for doing your job properly as I get frustrated at many restaurants for not timing the dishes properly.

I'm a highschool Physics and Gym teacher. I use my watch for measuring plank lengths.

Ha! I get frustrated when our staff messes that stuff up, the watch is a valuable tool for sure. Thanks for the heads up.

·

Customs advisor. Date on a watch is a lifesaver when dealing with paperwork.

·

Run a Vape Shop, so used for opening & closing times.

Surprisingly often magnets are involved, so my favourite watch is my SM300 ( my WRUW is pretty samey 😂)

·

University student, would never leave my house without a watch on my wrist, gives me anxiety to not know the time whenever I want, people say we have our phones to tell the time but I don't want to see my phone's screen every 10 mins it's better to tilt my wrist and watch this beautiful piece on my wrist tell time.
