Help me choose!

Gang,

I am at it again and this time I'm looking for a watch to wear when I'm zipping around in my Mazda Miata convertible (red/burgundy leather seats, black car).

I like both of these, calibre is diff (Miyota on the Straton and Seiko on the Yema). Sapphire on the Straton, Mineral on the Yema. Both 316L steel. The Yema is about US$330 with a disc right now and the Straton is US$299. I think I like the sportier leather strap on the Yema.

Yema is a more well known brand obviously. I'm buying for looks and vibe, not an investment or to resell someday.

Thoughts?

The Straton all day long for me. It just looks so much better to my eyes. The miyota movement is fairly comparable to the Seiko, and you can put the $31 you save towards a half decent rally strap to go with it!

I would go with the Yema. More heritage and I think looks better.

Also to add to your list the Dan Henry looks nice as well

Orient has this chrono one blue, white and red for cheaper

I have the 1937 Dan Henry, great watch.

On looks alone I'd go Yema

·

IMO I would go with Yema, it's nicer and that double circle just goes so well with two subdials 🍻

·

For looks I like the Yema, but have you considered a racing watch from Casio Edifice. It may not be what you are looking for, but the red and black version would match the car. https://www.casio.com/us/watches/edifice/products/collection/link-with-smartphone/ecb-2000/

my 2 cents ... Yema ... sexy as F! 😎

you mean next week....it's crack, lol

I bought the Yema, just looks like a racer to me and it matches my interior. I need help, Orient has a sale on, Bambino's for around $175.

·

I prefer the Straton, nicer dial.

·

Stratton all day, every day. I don't like the color of the other at all. Love the brand. Abhor that color.

this whole decision was a coin flip. I really like those television cases on the Stratons....I should take come bottles back and get one for Easter.

No help required. Just buy the Bambino. I want a small second's white dial.

The Yema certainly matches the interior better.

Stratton; from what I've seen they will be a better quality watch than the Yema. The brand owner is also responsive and active in the community, and will provide good service after purchase. I've only heard negative things about Yema customer service and quality control.

·

Am I the only person on here that matches their watch to their outfit? To the experience they are going to have that day? Why should it be different with their driving? If I'm feeling sporty and want to feel like a racer, why not wear a watch that matches my car?

In my Miata, I wear this:

The Yema rallygraph: Yema is a brand doing a lot of interesting things at the moment, very dynamic and creative, in my opinion; their vintage inspired modern watches have some of the best designs for the price, Yema has a tradition on racing chronographs and car/races still is a known source of inspiration for them; their bordeaux Rallygraph matches perfectly your car interior 😎 and it’s only $31 more than the Straton, which looks good but for me has none of the charm of the Yema alternative.
