Bulova lunar pilot vs Large O (Omega in Greek) x swatch (crap watch in Swiss:-)

I was thinking about getting a moon swatch then noticed used black face Bulova lunar pilots still under warranty cost less about $225 USD.

I'm leaning towards the Bulova as it's history and case and movement are much better

What do you guys think?

Also did you know Omega means large O and omicron means small O in Greek? Lol today's useless trivia....

Get the Bulova!

The Bulava came to fame because the Omega broke. That's all you need to know 😉

Exactly and the 262 quartz is unique enough to sell me too

·

Land that Lunar Pilot! I love mine.

·

I would try the Lunar Pilot on, if you can. Even the smaller one is quite massive.

·

Lunar Pilot 100% the polished no date looks very speedmaster…the moonswatch is cool but plastic.

I regularly wear this 55mm Invicta.... And leather gauntlets.... 45mm is a small watch imho

The Shaq sw200 special lmfao

I'd second @88MilesPerHour.

DISCLAIMER: I have ZERO issues wearing big, tool-y, watches. Spent a lot of time in weird places with a Casio Protrek.

TBS: A lot of enthusiasts, and I mean a lot, are somewhat over concerned on how a watch fits, lug width, etc. So if a large watch is gonna bother you, DEF try on.

If you live in the US, Macy's, and other department stores might have one one in stock.

Here's mine on a 6.5".

I honestly see no comparison. 😁

·

There's no comparison between the Bulova a real cool watch, and a plastic Swatch. Also cool but not more than a cool disposable toy.

·

I fell for the hype and bought the MoonSwatch. Big mistake. Later I bought the Bulova. It is water and wine. Actually, it is storm drain water and ultra high end French Bordeaux.

Don’t think twice. Buy the Bulova. I suggest the 43.5mm. The 45mm is too large.

·

For the Bulova you should make sure it's not huge on you, that's the most common complaint. I want the Lunar Pilot, I want the smaller, dateless, one, but I also am not a fan of the case and bracelet finishing in the smaller version and prefer the non-polished larger one, but not its size… 😅

But hey don't be mean to Swatch - it played a significant part in helping the watch industry post-quartz-crisis 😉

·

I just got the Lunar pilot as a gift and I'm loving it! It's such a sick watch.

·

One is a real watch while the other is an expensive plastic token that fell out of a cracker box. Get the Bulova if the size isn't a problem for you.

Again I usually wear a 55mm watch the Bulova is 10mm smaller

Slides right under the cuff

·

Bulova 👌

·

Bulova...no brainer...it is so nice and so precise. More value than the Omega (including the real speedy)

·

I would buy the metal LP over the plasticfantastic MoonSwatch every time.

·

Definitely I would pick the Bulova but … your wrist is smaller than mine (not by much) and when I tried the reduced size lunar pilot on it wore pretty big because it’s flat with no curve on the lugs. Too big for me so just wanted to make sure you knew that.

If you think think you can move it on for negligible cost to you (or don’t care) then worth trying to see if it’s for you.

The other point to note is that the second hand still has the quartz tick rather than the smoother Precisionist sweep. Not a big deal for me given the value in the technology.

My Rolex ticks cause it's an oysterquartz.... This doesn't bother me 😁

·

Bulova all the way. Great movement in there for a great price. I just so happen to be wearing mine today. 🚀

·

Get whichever you desire more.

·

Bulova is the real deal. The MoonSwatch is the stripped down, consumer version of the real deal.

·

Get the bulova every time 💯

·

Bulova. If you have a cheaper budget Panani Design.

Wait, this is a Bulova Lunar Pilot versus a MoonSwatch? Mate, it's no contest. Get the Bulova. It's a real watch with real history. Not a plastic Swatch cosplaying an Omega.

Just ensure it's the 43mm version, not the 45mm. You have a smaller wrist.

·

BULOVA!!!

Bull. Oooo. Vaaaaa!

I have the 45. 7.25 wrist. LOVE IT.

Seriously, this is not a contest. I’m not a Moonswatch hater. It has its place (just not in my collection). But the Look bar Pilot should be in everyone’s collection.

There are lots of the 45s out there on secondary market. Get it.

Cheers, Dave

The Lunar Pilot has an incredible movement and great history (albeit the historical watch used a mechanical movement) The Moonswatch is a fun novelty. Ask @@TimeToRide he has both

·

Bulova all the way, superb for the money. Some say it's too big, but for me it's just right.
