Generally yes. Some models from certain brands cross the lines either up or down. But from a very general perspective itโs not perfect but isnโt totally off base either.
It's about opinion. For the vast majority on the list I would never be able to afford them, so I couldn't care less. But I still appreciate the design and quality (from a distance)
I mean to say you can call it however you want. Whether Longines is entry level luxury or enthusiast or whatever doesnโt really change the content of the product does it? Someone on here posted something earlier about a $2k watch being referred to as entry level, same thing. Whoever puts these silly labels on this stuff can do that all they want, it doesnโt change or affect the watch at all.
When I consider a watch these terms never really work their way into my decision making.
These kinds of terms are only invoked to convince us we should be trying to โlevel upโ to the next tier and in the process but more stuff.
โOh I see you have enthusiast watches, maybe youโd like luxury nextโฆ. Perhaps ultra-super-exclusive luxury.โ
Thereโs a lot I disagree with. Moving Oris and formex into entry level luxury as well as move orient and citizen into enthusiast just to name a few changes.
I can see 2 watches from Hermes that I would really enjoy owning but none from Rolex and I actually respect Rolex still own a few vintage doctorsโ watches and some bubble backs that I will never sell off.
I'd boot Rolex out of the high end luxury into the luxury category. I'd then combine the high end luxury with the ultra luxury as I can't see the difference with most of them.
How can Gucci, Dior & Ralph Lauren be in the same category as Credor & Chopard? Not for me, they're getting booted down a couple of divisions or Credor & Chopard get a promotion.
Anyway it's all subjective bollox that were I to look at it tomorrow I'd probably contradict myself ๐
I rarely see any real logic in these kind of charts. Lange and Rolex in the same bracket? Ralph Lauren and Glashรผtte Original?! And the names themselvesโฆโConsumerโโฆso when I bought a CW, Squale or GO I wasnโt a consumer?
Tissot deserves to be in the Enthusiast or Entry-level Luxury category, IMO, and TAG Heuer more properly belongs in Entry-level Luxury, but as always, I could be wrong.
Ulysse Nardin makes some pretty serious watches and they are not cheap. Their style is what you might call โsubjectiveโ but they actually make very fine watches.
Ralph Lauren doesnโt make a lot of watches but when he does, they are serious. He actually uses Piaget movements.

Just on the basics, Citizen and Tissot are no more or less "consumer" than Seiko.
I like this list.
It puts Richard Mille in the same category as JLC. Now I have JLCs, so that means I am Richard Mille level.

I see no mistakes on your logic ๐
Casio should be ultra luxury

Its just a price segmentation of the market...
These lists are always entertaining
Sure, why not?

In a word no ๐คฃ
No. Many reasons, but to name a few:
Lange, MB&F, Credor and a few others are legitimately above the trinity.
Zenith, Glashutte, IWC, GS, Credor are at least as good as Rolex.
It is quite subjective for a lot of the rest.

ArrrrghโฆI clicked on the clickbait again ๐
How is Ulysee Nardin in luxary category?
Do Ralph Lauren even make watches?
This list is soooo baad
Rado and Oris on the enthusiast level?

Somebody with Google and Photoshop made a thing about watches. How cute?
Credor is equal to Patek. So is ALS. The trinity can get bent. They arenโt in a tier by themselves.
Rolex is not on ALS level either.
Vostok is in there twice in two different tiers.
So many other weird and wacky decisions here.

I didnโt ever think you made the list. LOL
They are always amusing though. I actually think they make them so wrong deliberately to generate discussion, outrage and views.
Terrible list. MY list is the only correct list and I wonโt let you see it. Only my opinion counts. ๐
