I went to my first ever watch event. It was a Zenith whisky-tasting kind of event. Everything was amazing, from the treat everyone behind the brand gave us to the awesome pieces they showed. Of course you always want to take one of your favorite pieces to a watch event, even more if its your first one. So I took my brand new (at that time) Tudor Black Bay 54.
We saw a lot of great pieces, some of which I hadn't seen in the flesh until that day. I remember 3 amazing watches: First it was a blue A Lange & Söhne 1 in white gold. It was mesmerizing.
Then I got to see for the first time a Snoopy Omega Moonwatch, which I wasn't all that thrilled about until I saw it first hand. Beautiful watch.
But then as the night was coming to an end, from far away I saw a man, he was alone. He being alone was the first thing that called my attention, that and the refined look he had. He was alone, tasting his whiskey and looking at watches. So I immediately turn down to his wrist: It was a Casio AQ-230GA-9DMQYES
As I wasn't that really close to him, at first I couldn't figure what he was wearing, but looking at the whole picture I was certain it would be a 10k+ watch. I got close enough to identify the piece, realized what it was, and just about when I was going to compliment him on his watch, someone else beat me to it. I smiled, and continued my way.
That's the main thing I love about this passion, you don't need thousands of dollars to own a magnificent piece. A Casio will do.
