First scratches

Went hiking yesterday and got a few first scratches on bezel and bracelet of my Explorer II.

While I bought it for hiking and backpacking and scratches are unavoidable, I still expected the first scratch would hurt all the same😅

Strangely it didn’t. I kind of prefer it with scratches. I’m looking forward to getting more through the summer ⛰️😊

Cheers! Well done. Wear that thing and enjoy it!

Is the scratch you referring to in the 24 hour bezel at 3? Either way, I really think Explorer II is the more I wear it the more I think it is a hidden gem timepiece! 🍻

They're built to take a beating.

True Explorer 🦾🦾🦾

Good for you, get out there and use it, enjoy the world things are just things. Keep going, here's nearly 25 years of scratches for inspiration (had it serviced last year and when they asked if I wanted a new bezel I just laughed)

It looks great😎

Enjoy your watch!

·

Love that you are using it as intended. Well done sir!!

·

Very nice!! Wonderful memories to cherish when looking at those scratches. Enjoy!

·

I’ve so many scratches on mine(also a black dial Exp2) that at this point I just wear it without a single worry. Kinda helps me enjoy the watch more tbh.

·

If you like you can easily and gently brush that out with a green scotch guard. I would tape the 3 triangle marker though. But if you like scratches ROCK it HARD brother 👊🏽

Scratches are inevitable. A tool watch is to be used, enjoyed and appreciated. A well worn one will have many small shallow scratches over time. Be sensible but don’t become paranoid, otherwise it will reduce your enjoyment. Btw, you have a very fine collection of timepieces!

Thank you, sir!

I enjoy scratches on my Sinn and now Explorer II.

But I’m still paranoid about getting scratches on my dressier pieces😂

Looks great scratch or no scratch. I’m sure a Cape Cod cloth could help, but I would assume the scratch as a badge of honor. Memories.

·

Lovely scenery! Enjoy the scratches, they're writing the story of your life! 🙏

·

My #1 fav watch! Enjoy it to the fullest!

Use a Tudor as a tool watch

First of many 😁

Scatches is the real sign Of ownership… if you do scratch it, you do not care about reselling it, therefore you own it in a deeper sense.

Congratulations

·

What a view! Looks like it was worth it. Great watch.

·

The Explorer II is the last true Rolex for me; a real tool watch. It needs to live a rugged life, so long may it's adventures continue! 🤜

·

My Explorer "itch" worse because of your scratch. Well worn. Keep climbing.

That surface looks brushed to me - a cape cod cloth would actually make it look worse as it would polish the finish.

·

Keep telling yourself that mate. We know you shed a tear when no one was looking...😪

·

Fantastic. Watches are meant to be worn and enjoyed. Life is short. Getting out to make wonderful memories are more important

Yes, it’s all brushed except for the side of the case and side of the bracelet.

I will not polish it anyways👍

·

Wear your tools my friend. Below was worn by me, then my father, then me again since 1991.

Yeah, the cape cod cloth is brilliant on polished surfaces, it'd ruin brushed ones 👍
