American Watch Brands? 🇺🇸

Anyone know of some solid American made watch brands? Wanting to look into some. A unique watch that I’ve found a liking for is this DuFrane Waterloo.

Ya the slight texture in that linen dial is what drew me to it.

I don't yet own any of these brands, but I'm closest to changing that with Lorier & Islander

·

Dufrane is great out of Texas and here’s another Texas Timepiece with Roebuck Watch Company and the Ranger

Nice, I’m really liking that Lorier Zephyr

Truly made in US is nigh impossible. Assembled etc doable.

Tactical side of the house you have:

Winfield

Sangin Instruments

Vaer

Ares

SB Bradley

Resco

Sports side:

Bernhardt

Dufrane

Weiss

Dryden

Raven

Nth

Detroit Watch Company

Cincinnati Watch Co

Tsao Baltimore

Kobold

Lorier

Helm

Mostly US made and very costly:

My fave is the Falcon Series 3 (SIII), but would love any of their models

I could drive to the Vero office in about 45 minutes.

Pick me up a Smokey the Bear watch please. I’ll pay you back 🙂.

I know they’ve had their issues, but I’ve been very happy with this one. I don’t know about currently, but this one from 2020 came with an insurance card stating a lifetime warranty. My wife got it for me for Christmas so I’m sure that is a large part of my enjoyment, but I’ve grown to really like it!

Nodus is based in Los Angeles. I dig their GMT design.

Dufrane is great, owner is a great guy and worth supporting

I love my DuFrane Travis. I’ve seen most of their product line in person, and I’m a big fan.

There’s several more Texas based brands that I don’t own yet, but have seen in person that I’d love to own someday as well: Jack Mason, Trafford, Canopy.

The only problem I have with these lists is that whole they are US companies, they aren't watches Made in America. I want an American made automatic, and about the only way I can afford to do that is going vintage. RGM is nice, but it off my price range.

Try Colorado Watch Company which is owned by Vortic. They are building a vertically integrated manufacturer in Arizona. One of the owner’s mentioned that they were over 70% US made on a Colorado model but because of FTC regulations, can’t use made in America out of concern of being fined.

I've seen them, and I'll keep an eye on them. Right now, I'm not a huge fan of the dials, although the GCT one isn't bad. But the Field is nice, that logo inside the red rectangle at the 12 is terrible.

I have a Shinola messenger bag I love. I hope they accomplish their goal of attaining a true "American luxury brand" status.
