I know it is a throwback to 70's design but $375 and $445 for these models?

What are your thoughts on this release from Tissot?

35mm and 40mm Silver variant- $375

35mm and 40mm Gold variant- $445

The Europe pricing is €375 and €445 as well.

OK. Tissot gotta stop. This definitely kills the trend

That's an expensive vintage Casio. I mean Tissot.

They do look like Casios. But they also look cool, don't they? Maybe not for the price though.

·

Not for me...... fuel station £9.99 look about them.

·

I think they look great and are a fun way to go digital.

·

That's a ridiculous price for a $5 digital.

·

I sense a great disturbance in the force, as if a dozen YouTuber’s are crying into their cameras all at once.

Who will be the first to upload? The Time Teller, Mad Watch Collector, Urban Gentry, Watchfinder and even the Watchcrunch channel have been openly critical of the PRX lately.

Not gonna lie, if I find the black 40mm gray market for less than half price, I’ll buy one. I gravitate to watches everyone hates.

The pricing is definitely not fun.

·

Confirmed: this app needs a throwup reaction emoji.

As a proud PRX fanboy, I’m having doubts about the pricing strategy of this new release. It’s being priced at the same range as the three-hander quartz model, but without any of the dial finishing and fun colours. I’m not sure this will be a successful strategy.

The general public, which is most of the PRX buyer base, sees digital watches as inexpensive watches, and there’s no way that a non-enthusiast will pay that price for a digital watch. Tissot could have made the digital PRX the new entry level PRX by selling it for $150 and have lines of people at the AD door looking for a more premium yet affordable digital watch.

It’s just sad.

·

In a class by their own. Omega and others could have had this territory, but only Tissot was bold enough to claim it.

It depends. People are willing to drop ~$400 to $700 on the quartz or automatic PRX. You think the dial and movement are $200+ of the cost?

·

A 38mm PRX automatic. Now that was the move.

V. true. Let's give them kudos for that. 👍💪👌

I'm going to add them to my "Watches I'm Too Embarrassed to Admit I Like" folder.

·

The prices it very similar to the quartz model. But I’m not going to sit here and act like I know the difference between and analog or digital quartz displayed movement

·

I hate it, but I want it.

To be completely fair, it's about as much as a G-Shock in steel (with sapphire glass?), So not too crazy for the competition?

No, actually.

Casio has an effortless, tool look to them. It's like, "really, I need to get to work now" kind of statement.

This one doesn't ooze that. It looks.... cheap and out of place to my eyes. It doesn't have that rugged, oil-in-fingernail (or mud-on-boot) feel. It looks kinda like fashion jeans: too fussy to do anything, but somehow spotting holes from supposedly doing things. Cheap and fake, in other words.

On the other hand, Casio at this price also have higher water resistance, solar power (i.e. never change battery), and probably is lighter.

·

If I ever get one of these it will be from the clearance section of my local TJ Maxx. ✔

·

Omg, THAT IS REAL? Now to be fair, i am VERY new to watch collecting and when i looked it up, a different watch came up. So when I saw THIS i thought it was fake.😂

·

It is a steal in the literal meaning of the word.

·

my eyes are bleeding like wtf is this😭

·

I think they look nice but you could have the same style watch for a fraction of the price.

·

Just a cash grab now. The bubble is beginning to burst.

APOLOGIES FOR THE CROSS-POSTING 😎

(This reply was posted to another WC thread with the same subject matter.)

Tissot made a big mistake. When it comes to digital quartz, you shouldn't try to play in Casio's sandbox. Their digital quartz movements are super-precise, super-reliable, and you can get a Casio for about $80 on Amazon. And the Casio watches look better.

I'll stay with the Casio.

That's the one I posted about! 😀 Great minds think alike! 😎👍

·

Too dear without knowing anything about this quartz movement.

·

These are paying homage to Casio iconic designs. Full stop.

·

The PRX got a slight price bump recently. The quartz models are $395 for the silver and $495 for the gold.

·

Terrible.. the old school Casios may have a much lesser quality bracelet but! This dial is horrendous… sorry not sorry.
