Custom modded Seiko SRPE

This is my first time mod Seiko SRPE. While the stock watch is phenomenal, there's definitely areas it could be improved upon.

This one is what I call lightly modded. I added a new double dome sapphire with blue AR to replace the flat mineral, replaced the cheap plastic black chapter ring with brushed laser etched metal, and replaced the sterile crown with a knurled one signed with the Seiko "S". In addition, I replaced Seikos infamously crappy stock bracelet with a brushed oyster with solid links/endlinks.

All done in a few hours and some inexpensive tools. Having to file the stem to get it perfectly sized definitely tested my patience, but a great learning experience for me and I'm happy the way it turned out. My favorite kind of mod is a mod that doesn't look like a mod, if that makes sense. I think I got it perfect on this one, certainly won't be the last.

Looks amazing! Well done!

Custom is brand to be proud of. well done.

Makes perfect sense, "tasteful mods" to me mean it looks like it came that way and that is what you have achieved. We'll done!

·

Nice job on that mod! 👍

I love mine, but yours look better 😜

Your watch came out great. I enjoy modding as well and it’s easy once you get the hang of it. I find that you not only add the details you prefer but you can also remove all the unnecessary parts. 😉🤪😀

On a more successful note 🙄, I did remove the candy bar cyclops from my King Turtle and also added the Beads of Rice bracelet from Strapcode.

This is what I call a stealth mod. Tasteful upgrades to an already great watch. It looks stunning! I do enjoy going full blown artsy/unique on mods too though.

There was nothing wrong with the stock version at all, hence why it was "lightly" modded lol

Lol modding can be tricky business for sure. That turtle looks spectacular, just those two little changes elevates it.

Most definitely, I would like to get some more experience under the belt before going crazy. Some pieces I've seen are spectacular

I'm looking to mod mine. What site did you source?:

-Bracelet

-Chapter ring etc..

Chapter ring, crystal, crown were all sourced from Namoki mods, the bracelet was sourced off eBay, there are lots of options bracelet wise but I didn't want to make the cost of the mod almost equal to the watch itself

i thought i was being sooooo unique and turns out I'm just copying literally what you've already done. I decided to go with a flat sapphire because I don't want to increase the overall case height, and I also think I'm going to revert back to the OEM crown w/ coined edge ( I love the knurled texturing but I'm also a big fan of the original style). I think the brushed chapter ring takes this watch to a whole other level👌👌

Great minds think alike! Definitely the brushed chapter ring elevates it! Give it a go! I ended up going a bit further and modding the dial to a salmon you can find my post in my history
