If you own a Seiko 5 SNXS7x timepiece, then this post is for you.
You know from personal experience how stunning and legendary this series is. We have so many good reasons why an SNXS7x watch continues to remain in our collection. The timepiece never ceases to amaze.๐๐ฝ I definitely can say that of my SNXS79. #snxs79
Last September 2022, a few of us Crunchers decided to celebrate this venerable Seiko 5 line.
We designated the week of September 4 โ 10 to highlight the amazing qualities of the SNXS7x Series. (S = September; X = 10th as the culminating day; 7x = 7 days)
This year, we'd like to invite you to join us as we celebrate the 2nd Edition of the SNXS7x Week! ๐ป๐พ

In the 1st Edition, hereโs how we celebrated the SNXS7x Week...
1. We posted a wrist shot daily on WRUW from Sept. 4 โ 10. We tagged our photos with #snxs7xweek and the watch model (e.g. #snxs73, #snxs75, #snxs77, #snxs79, #snxs81).
2. We even tried following a theme for the day when posting on WRUW (e.g. on a leather strap, photo with another Seiko 5 watch, lume shot, etc.)
SNXS75 (Photo not mine.)
3. Some of us wrote a short article/post during the week, highlighting the captivating qualities of the SNXS7x line.
4. On September 10th, the culminating day, we all posted on WRUW, and we each wrote an individual article/post about why we love our SNXS7x timepiece. #snxs7xday
5. @Scooby and I took it to the next level by wearing our SNXS7x watches the whole of September! #snxs7xmonth ๐
It was a simple yet fun celebration, and surely worth repeating every year. ๐๐ผ

Ever since the 1st Edition, Iโve personally seen so many other Crunchers posting and talking about their SNXS7x watch. If youโre reading this, you may have been one of themโฆ

I am amazed how so many of us enjoy our SNXS7x timepiece. It seems like we just can't stop finding reasons to enjoy them. I certainly can't with my SNXS79.
For this 2nd Edition, what a blast it would be if we all joined the celebration. ๐ฅ๐
If you plan on joining, can you suggest other ways that we can do together to celebrate and showcase our awe-inspiring SNXS7x watches?
A trivia game perhaps? A raffle or an auction? A poll on which model WCers will most likely add to their collection? A review of one of the models? An online meetup via Discord? Let us hear your creative ideas. ๐
Will you join the 2nd Edition of the SNXS7x Week?
Chime in and be counted! Because, we just have so much to talk about when it comes to our really cool and stunning SNXS7x timepieces. ๐๐บ

Great idea! I have plenty of nice shots of this piece and I think I will be able to translate a review I wrote some time ago to english! ๐

Let's do it, my friend! Your macro shots and your review will definitely be a great showcase during the SNXS7x Week. ๐ป
Very fun idea!
I'm looking forward to the pictures. Hopefully someone made the SNXS79 dial x SNKL case mod for the ultimate Seiko 5 watch! ๐

My memory may fail me, but I think @gbelleh did the case swap.
For me, I prefer keeping the case as it stays true to its vintage heritage, following the design of its predecessor released in the late 70s or in the 80s. I just can't remember the model number. ๐

Thank you for your kind words :-)
Yes, I swapped my SNXS79 dial into a SNKL393 case, and my SNKL23 dial currently resides in the SNXS79 case. I love all the SNKโฆ, SNXSโฆ Seiko watches and Iโd celebrate them anytime.
Awesome idea man!๐I'm back to work tomorrow again so I probably won't be able to post everyday, but I'll try my best to throw in a wruw of my -79 every now and then..๐๐ป
I'd wear mine more, except my wife commandeered it and refuses to give it back. What can I say... she's got impeccable taste.

Woot! Woot! Looking forward to it, bud!

Hehehe... she sure does.
She can join the celebration too!
And, I guess it's time for you to get any of the other models -- SNXS73, 75, 77 or 81. ๐

@Jivajive has the predecessor to the SNXS7x series... the 7009-3040. I'm sure he can share cool photos of this vintage piece. ๐

Howdie sir,
Yes I do have the SNXs from the 80s running on the 7009 movement. Why do people say the SNXs is a homage of the Oyster perpetual, shouldn't it be the other way around? My 7009 is currently missing a seconds hand and movement needs repair. :)

Howdie, good sir. Cool photo. I didn't notice the missing seconds hand from last time we chatted. I'm sure your watchmaker will be able to source a period-specific or period-correct replacement. Yes, all vintage pieces deserve TLC. ๐
I've heard a handful of YT reviewers say it is a homage to the Rolex OP Datejust. Like you, I disagree because the main difference is that the 7009 and the SNXS7x have a day-date function, and a more distinctive case shape.
On a #hexad bracelet, it even looks like it's Batman's watch...
One can never say that of the Datejust, even with its fluted bezel. ๐
I have a brushed Oyster bracelet on the way to install on my SNXS79. Should be here this week I think. I already have one on my SNXS73, and it makes the watch look even more impressive. I managed to get the Seiko clasp on it and reused the original Seiko hollow end links so it fit perfectly.

Really cool and impressive indeed... ๐
I have an Oyster bracelet with polished center-links. You might want to get this one too. ๐
Or, you might wanna also try a 5-link bracelet...

Totally agree! The bracelets give the already stunning SNXS79 a new kind of beauty. Got them from our local e-commerce platform called Lazada. For your neck of the woods, perhaps you can find the same on AliExpress.

Thank you my friend! I have tried AE but most of the compatible bracelets for the NXSX series have many bad comments. Mainly about QC issues but I might give them a try!
