From the serial number likely 1989... first number is the last digit of a year. I think the 7009 ended production in 1996.

Very true, the overall design and dial make them so captivating. I have the snxs73 and an older dark grey one from 1991 running on the 7009 movement.

The Alpinist 'shark tooth' is my choice of a GADA watch. At 39.5mm it straddles between being a dress/sports watch decently. 200m wr, date and rotating compass when makes it a good sports watch,
