Which Watch for Women?

Stuck in traffic and pondering … 520 (Chinese phonics for I love you) coming up … which brands or watches would you give to your wife or significant other? There isn’t enough or much discussion on women’s watches so I thought I just throw it out there … I’ve tried to stay away from fashion brands and luckily for myself my wife is now trained and watch brand wavy. So which watch brand or even watch would you get her? For Women out there, which one would you get for yourself?

Cartier, for best flexing by your SO with her circle of friends.

Whichever one she tells me she wants

True .. so true …

Mrs. SolidYetti seems to like Timex, Seiko, Vintage Wolbrook, Elliot Brown, Sinn, and Abingdon and Co, so E.... 😂?

I gave my wife a Cartier Ballon Bleu a few years after the daughters and I gave her a Roadster, Cartier is always the easy choice.

I'm into watches and still would be thrilled to get any Cartier. A Ballon Blue, a Panthere, a Pasha, a Ronde, and any other Tank than I already have. Cartier is timeless, classic, and will look good in jeans or an evening gown

I'm mesmerized by the happy diamonds, always have been

Something from Cartier, Bulgari or Van Cleef.

Correct me if I’m wrong .. it’s just the happy diamonds comes in quartz … annoying when she comes to you and asks you to change the batteries for her … annoying

I'm afraid I'm not sure about the only quartz part I just like seeing the diamonds float around the dial like that lol

I'd discuss with her what she'd like to wear and not be presumptive.

Girlfriend of mine had one a while back, It’s a stunning piece. I much preferred it to any of the usual suspects.

My wife (non watch collector) said the JLC is the most beautiful, others simply have a more recognisable name 🤷‍♂️

Your wife has great taste ….

Back in the U.S., my wife dressed more formal (in general) than she does here in Europe, where her work environment is a little bit more casual. In the U.S. her daily was a Cartier Cle, which was then replaced by a two-tone Cartier Santos. Now, her daily is an Oyster Perpetual.

I must say China has changed recently with ladies and people being more low key. In the past it was breguet and blinged out cartiers … now they are much more subtle with low key cartiers and rolex foregoing the diamonds … the world is changing and like many people here are saying happiness lies within not necessarily on the wrist …

My wife chooses her own watches. She has everything from Brew and Mr. Jones to Rolex and Glashutte Original. Her sizes range from 1930s cocktail watches to a 46mm Pilot. She rocks them all.

The watch she wanted since high school was the Chanel J12 and it remains one of her favourites. It’s also has great enthusiast credentials. It’s a COSC certified Kenissi movement in an all ceramic case and bracelet. It’s 200m water resistant with a display back. It has a unique spring loaded butterfly clasp. It’s a GPHG winner. It competes well for her wrist time with the pink OP36, Explorer, SeaQ and Tank Américaine.

Does she ask ur option on which watch to wear with her outfit? Subtle discussions ….

My hot take is that Cartier watches are for women. Ok, I am ready for the hate lol.

I line the men’s collection too … but depends … to each his own :)

Amen. at the very least do some recon! “Hey, hey what do you think of these?”

But but but … you need to be subtle … best of both worlds is to ask without asking and then surprise her … not that an expensive watch is everything … but the process, attention, and thought …. “Remember when u asked you what you thought when we were walking through the mall?” Or “what do you think of the watch that lady is wearing?” … indirect

Most Cartier for woman are quartz which is perfect

I beg to differ:)

·

The Dior.

Oh wait, that isn't an option in the survey. 😂

·

Pretty sure that Cartier is a gold standard here (at least traditionally). 🙏

·

Mine found the Ballon Bleu on her own and showed me. She likes the blue dial 33mm. I think it’s probably a bit too large on the wrist for her style but the only way to know is to try it.

What you do is get one of the more androgynous models like say a Cartier Tank /Santos Dumont so that you can then borrow it "on occasion"

Hard to go wrong with any Cartier but watches are intensely personal and if she’s become pretty savvy about them I would ask. We women ponder and overthink every single piece of significant jewelry and watches are no different. Let her pick.

If my husband asked me what I wanted today I would say Tudor sub, upcoming Kurono drop or yachtmaster 37. See, we’re very hard to predict.😁

A, the founder was a watchmaker apprentice before a jeweler.

She will sometimes ask me which shoes to wear but never which watch. She knows which watch she’s going to wear before she goes to bed at night and has it laid out waiting.

I assume how deep in the water you’re in .. for men at least … in the beginning any watch … then it had to be automatic … then it had to be a brand … THEN we starting choosing the brand …. THEN it was complications … THEN it was occasions …. THEN … I have a problem … big big problem ….

I bought my wife a Tissot last year, and for her next watch I know she has her eye on an Omega
