Hamilton Khaki Field Listing: $550 Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 42 mm, Reference number H70515137; Steel; Automatic; Condition Good; Year 2023; Watch wit...
Good call, I suppose the only way to know is for me to open the caseback and run the numbers. I might have to do that. It's my father-in-law's, so I didn't want to mess around too much w/ it.
What makes you say it's been badly relumed? I'm curious. It looks like it was tritium lumed, but I don't know what that would typically look like on a vintage Omega. (Haven't had the chance to dig too much.) The hands look like there is lume on the ends... I don't know if it's bad, or if it's just the way the photo and case make it look...?
Thanks! I did some searching around last night, and by looks alone, I couldn't tell if it was a 1000 series caliber or something like a 751 from the '60s. I suppose the only way to know is to open the caseback and run the numbers.
It all depends who you are and what you like!
If you're looking for some affordable entry-level (aka gateway) autos, you could check out the Seiko 5 line or Orient for the Bambino or Kamasu (both great).
There's a ton of great watches to be had for little money, like a Casio Duro or one of Timex's many offerings... I feel like they've been doing a great job lately.
Vostok is cool if you want something different & like divers.
A lot of possibilities, but all depends on your taste!
I checked out their page... some nice looking watches. Looks like a micro-brand I was unaware of. I like that the 1960 racing watch is 40 mm. To me it looks nicer than the Dan Henry version.
Yeah, I say go for it. It looks good. I've always gotten hung up on whether a watch fits me or not, but lately, I'm starting to lighten up a bit.
The only reason you should hold back would be if you are just going to always question if it's too big and not be able to enjoy it. Then I say you might wanna skip.
