Given the day/date function and baton hands, it’s probably got a Caliber 1000 series in it (likely a 1020). They were produced from ‘72-84. So, likely some point in the 1970s.
There should be a reference number on the inside of the caseback & a serial number on the movement you can date it from. Looks like it been badly relumed though!

Thanks! I did some searching around last night, and by looks alone, I couldn't tell if it was a 1000 series caliber or something like a 751 from the '60s. I suppose the only way to know is to open the caseback and run the numbers.

Good call, I suppose the only way to know is for me to open the caseback and run the numbers. I might have to do that. It's my father-in-law's, so I didn't want to mess around too much w/ it.
What makes you say it's been badly relumed? I'm curious. It looks like it was tritium lumed, but I don't know what that would typically look like on a vintage Omega. (Haven't had the chance to dig too much.) The hands look like there is lume on the ends... I don't know if it's bad, or if it's just the way the photo and case make it look...?

The lume on the hands looks to be a different colour to that on the dial & the lume on the minute hand looks like it covers the full width of the hand rather than just the hole it's supposed to sit in if that makes sense!

Got it! Good call, that does make sense. It should probably only sit in that thinner area!
