Hands on with the Minase X Fratello M-3

I recently had the chance to go hands-on with this purple, Zaratsu-polished threat for your wallet.

a good friend of mine has purchased it at the end of last year and I borrowed it to take some pics.

The @minasewatch x @fratellowatches special edition M-3 features a very unique dial pattern gracing the Pantone color of the year 2022 “very peri”.
For me it’s just very purple but what do I know?
It definitely is an eye catcher for sure and brings a fresh touch of vibrant color to anyone’s collection.

The Zaratsu (Sallaz) polished case of the M-3 is as unique as its dial and is pleasantly proportioned with 39x46x10.5mm.
The light play between satin and mirror polished surfaces is gorgeous and does remind me a little bit of another maybe a tad more well known Japanese watch brand 😉

While having no screw down crown the manufacturer claims this watch to be 100m water resistant which adds some piece of mind although I don’t think anyone would go for a swim with this watch.

Inside you’ll find a modified Sellita SW-200 ticking… if you remove the solid custom engraved stainless steel caseback, that is.
It has been modified so it doesn’t have the notorious ghost date position that is considered to be a criminal offense by some fellow watch nerds.

What do you guys think? Definitely not a bargain watch but I think it looks really cool.

It’s not mine but I hope my friend will wear it and enjoy it.

·

Beautiful watch. Thanks for sharing.

·

Still can't quite get over the lugs. This is nice, really nice.

·

Wow

·

Breathtaking.

Enjoy!

·

I‘d prefer a divido, too.
And having my SBGA469 in direct comparison at hand, I must say GS‘ finish is just a little bit better, but not much to be honest. I think it’s nearly up to par but hands and Indizes lack the crispness and quality of a GS.

But it’s a great package in my opinion. Dial and case finish hit really hard. Even at its 3k price point.

I never hears about minase before, is it a microbrand? I find it quirky they are japanese watch with sellita movement lol. But oh man that dial is so gorgeous, never seen that purple pattern before.

·

Awesome dial! 🤯

·

That’s a real beauty. I’ll be searching this out in the metal.

·

Unfortunately it’s sold out at the moment. Good luck with finding one!

·

That dial is mindblowing! And the lugs remind me of a Gibson sg guitar (another hobby of mine)

·

Love the dial!

·

🍇 that dial is gorgeous

I'm getting one of these!  Except it's gotta wait till March of 2024.  No new watches until March of 2024 - saving up for a home renovation, otherwise my wife is gonna divorce me.

Holy guacamole that is one tasty little treat to watch enthusiasts eye. Gorgeous dial and the case polishing! Marvelous, simply marvelous. 😘

·

Beautiful! The dial is stunning and I really like the c shaped case.

·

I love Minase watches, and this one is just about perfect!

·

I agree with everyone that it's a beautiful watch.  Yet it leaves me cold.  I'm moving away from diver style watches and more into simple pure time keeping dress watches; still, I feel this watch is lacking in some department.  Perhaps it's the movement.  I didn't see the grade in the article. I would want at least top grade Sellita for this watch. If it was chronometer certified, that would be great.

·

That dial is absolutely gorgeous! 🙌

·

I'm not sure how I feel about the case, but that dial is awesome.

Yeah it’s a Microbrand from Japan. The m-3 has previously been a JDM model only and this is the first outside of it.

I agree. The price tag is a bit steep, though. But value for money often times just is a deception/illusion anyways.

I am not sure if hands and indizes might be better on the divido models, but I’d hope so. After all they cost a lot more than this M3.
I handled a divido at watchtime fair in duesseldorf Germany, and had my GS on my wrist and in my opinion the divido did not convince me to be on the same level as a GS.

But they’re gorgeous nonetheless.

Looking at the M-3 on a makro lens level I can clearly say that my SBGA469 is on a much higher level when it comes to hands and indizes.
