Which one is the best deal?

Hi everyone, I'm interested in purchasing an everyday watch with a 1500€ budget. The main features I look on in a watch are good movement, saphire cristal, water resistance and a good quality bracelet. I've come down to this two watches and I would like to know which one provides more quality for their rispective price. If anyone has other suggestions I would love to hear them. I wish everyone a great day.

I haven't worn the Conquest, however I do have Sinn 556. The bracelet is pretty good - not as adjustable as I'd like, but pretty comfortable. Otherwise a very solid tool watch you could wear every day.

My opinion is biased but I'd go for the Sinn and save a Longines for a GMT option...

Longines Conquest owner here - I'd rather have the Sinn. I much prefer its no-nonsense, toolish style. The Conquest picks up tons of scratches on the polished areas of the case & bracelet - if that bothers you, avoid. There's also no anti-reflective coating on the crystal whatsoever, but that hasn't really detracted from the wearing experience for me.

The Conquest was my first Swiss watch, and while I still enjoy wearing it, this would be an easy decision to make if I could go back. Especially with Sinn prices in those days! 🤦‍♂️

Wouldn´t it be better to look at the new Conquest and not the old one from your pictures?

I love the Sinn, but the new Conquest just looks way better and the new Sinn prices are just to high for what you get, in my opinion.

·

Sinn is undoubtedly a better tool watch but I personally prefer the more elegant look of the conquest. The 556 I find just a bit too dull. Really like the 104 though, that would be my pick

·

Biased because I’ve owned the 556a RS and it’s one of the only watches I regret selling.

Yup, just to second this. The newly released Conquest is much more refined and dressy so if you're looking for something smarter, go with the Longines, more toolish go with the Sinn. Both are excellent watches in their own right, no worries there.

Both lovely Watches, have you thought about the Christopher Ward Twelve, seen one recently online and it looked ace. Around the £1000 to £1500 mark too depending on the dial

·

I’d go and have a look in a shop, and see if one speaks to you, if I were you.

·

I prefer sinn 556. For me cleaner is better lol

·

you have to look at it all the time so it's either the dull utilitarian German option or the Swiss one you could be proud off.

·

The one with the least intrusive date

I paid £1300 for my quartz Omega Aqua Terra

·

Good choices, though if I were you I'd go with one of Christopher Ward military line of watches.

Personally I'd go for the Longines. Top tier watch company in my opinion. I've owned a couple and both were/are outstanding. Do you have the option of trying them on? Like at a store for instance, if not then go with your heart and gut. For me I've found that usually is the best way. Being torn between 2 watches is difficult. Try to find something about one you really like and get it. I've never owned a Sinn but I do know they're pretty darn good. If there's nothing about the general specs of one over the other that sways you then what I do is look at actual pics of each at the same time and let one call me to it. Sounds corny I know but it works for me, maybe it will for you too. Lol. Happy hunting!

I went with the Sinn 556i. It’s a perfect everyday watch on the bracelet or NATO. I never get bored with the design on my wrist.

·

I came down to these two watches when I purchased my Sinn 556a. Interesting that @diablo suffered with the Conquest picking up scratches on the polished parts of the watch, as that was one of the reasons I picked the Sinn over the Longines. I also felt that the Conquest was widely available pre-owned with a decent saving, where the Sinn seems to hold its price well and is difficult to really find a pre-owned bargain. Both are great looking watches 👍

·

I am also looking for an everyday watch and I'm probably going to go with the sinn with the red second hand. I'm trying to pick between where to have the date.

·

Judging purely by design, the Sinn speaks to me more.

·

I voted for the Sinn. I own the 556i and is one of my favorite watches. The watch is a strap monster, fits great on the wrist and the dial has this awesome inky black depth.

·

If it were my money? The Sinn.

I would also recommend looking at Christopher Ward for potential budget options.

Let us know what you decide, and pics when you get it!

While I have an absolute love for Longines, those crown guards on Conquest are spoiling the look. Looks like those crown guards were taken from the other watch and just put there for no reason.

Sinn looks much more in proportion.

·

Out of those two options I would choose the Sinn! But the Longines is also fantastic.

·

I own the Sinn 104 with the matte case and for the price you cannot beat a Sinn watch. They are very well made and have regulated movements.

·

I have a 556I-RS like CityHunter’s, plus a 556A. Love them both.

·

I have the conquest in 39mm with AR coating and love it. My vote is for the Longines.

I’m not a fan of Sinn, but if I was to own one, this would be it. It’s a good looking bugger.

·

Hot take: hate how the Conquest looks!

·

Either is good.. whichever you like better, or both, or none..

·

Put this bad boy on a UTE nato today and I’m loving it. I mean but I’m biased. 😎

Geez. You mad it hard because I love both of these watches and love these two brands and have had watches from both brands. It's a very tough choice, but in this case I'll have to give the nod to Sinn.

What did you decide ?
