I used to lust/desire for a Rolex for years. As I began to educate myself on Rolex and the process of obtaining one, I become less interested in obtaining one. As I discovered other brands, I really fell in watch love with both Tag Heuer & Omega watches. Most recently I purchased a Tudor Black Bay and Grand Seiko White Burch for my 30th wedding anniversary to round out my collection. There are so many options, other than Rolex, out there. I’m not denying that Rolex doesn’t make a great timepiece; I’m just saying that the entire process of obtaining one is ridiculous, imo.
Yet another reason that I’ve lost interest in ever purchasing a Rolex. I will not wait until some AD deems me worthy to purchase one. Also, as I’ve studied and learned more about the industry & other brands there are so many other timepieces that are exceptionally made and worth my investment.
Honestly for me it’s Rolex. I’ve wanted one for a very long time because it symbolized, too me, class, soficitation and “arriving”. Over the years as I began researching and learning about other brands, Rolex began to fall down my wish list. About a year ago it fell completely off. I don’t have any desire for a Rolex anymore. It’s a desirable brand and probably still the most sought after watches on the market. It’s just not for me.
