What watches ( brand or style ) do you not like anymore ?

Speaking personally it's g shock for me. I used to be hooked on them. Looking for the next g shock to buy, never off the internet to find my next watch.

Now, I really can't stand the sight of them.

Okay crunchers time to share what you don't like anymore

My Paw Patrol watch. Marshall was my hero. He put his own life in danger to rescue others. I wanted to show my appreciation and support for this honorable canine. I had several adventures and made lovely memories with this watch. Boating in the Keys. Hiking the PCT. You name it.

Fast forward to last September. On my way home from the office, I decided to stop at the corner 7-11. I went in and bought my Big Gulp and chili cheese Fritos without incident. It was when I came out of the store that the problem began. There was a group of unaccompanied minors leaning up against the front window. Their BMX bikes were laid out in front of them. They blew a huge vape cloud at me and started to verbally assault my choice of wrist wear. As this is Watch Crunch, I dare not repeat the horrid vulgarities they spewed. Let’s just say it made the shipyard at Eustis seem like an episode of Pocoyo in comparison. I ran to my Prius and cried for several minutes until I could pull myself together enough to drive home. The humiliation was unbearable. My wife instantly knew something was wrong the minute she saw my puffy face. I faked a bad migraine, and I went upstairs to bed.

To this day, I can’t stand the sight of the watch. In fact, I barely got through making this response. Remember, guys, words can be violence.

oof where do I start LOL:

Rolex:

I used to like Rolex but with all the hype it turned into a cult. I still respect them but they have shown that they are trying desperately to be Patek with bland dials and designs. The grey market pretty much put a bit of a stain in my books claiming to have a waiting list yet the grey market was flooded with the models you are waiting year to obtain at a crazy mark-up.

I used to respect some homages but now they are just Trolling hard:

I don't think I used to like any watches I dislike today. I do wish I enjoyed wearing bracelets as much as I enjoy the idea and look of them. I don't think I'll buy any bracelets again unless I buy a seamaster one of these days.

·

I have a particular dislike for digital watches, especially ones in resin cases. I also don't like Seiko, because they offer poor value for money, and in general their cases tend to be quite large.

·

Divers, vibrant color dials, bracelets

·

So how many g shock do you have now?

·

Orient, price increases across the board, but still lazy to come out with new watches.

Zero

·

Chronographs.... Used to like them.... But starting to find the dials too busy after some years.... Sold them all, including the Speedy

·

Casio (lived in G-Shocks for 10 years at least)

Chinese clomage's (got a Steeldive Ploprof in the collection still )

·

Any watch brand that charges over €500 for watches that contain NH/whatever movements.

·

Open heart watches

·

Rolex.

·

🤦🤦🤦🤦 The typical classic Rolex Submariner - I know i know its a blasphemy of sorts to say it being a watch lover but I find it absolutely boring and 'meh' - but I still love the submariner in two tone such as the Bluesy

·

Large watches and busy dials.

My grail for a long time was a breitling navitimer

Through collecting I realized I value legibility and wearable dimensions over all else. Both of which a navitimer is not.

·

I HATE ALL OF THEM!!! THEY'RE TAKING ALL OF MY MONEY!!!

·

Anything with a dive bezel, black dial dress watches, skeleton watches, most Tudors (outside of the 1926), most 40mm+ sizes. I like metal G-Shocks but perhaps won't be buying a plastic one anytime soon

·

AP oak whatevers

·

For me there is one brand I always wanted but i have fallen out of love with. Breitling, was always my grail, the watch I would own and say “I made it”. However, that has changed and if i never own one I’ll be perfectly ok with that. Once I tried one on i knew thia watxh was not for me.

I'm with you on G-Shocks. I'll wear one if I work underground or on an offshore oil rig. There's nothing wrong with having a capable watch, even if you don't use it, but I can't get around the ugly resin cases and gaudy size. It's a capable tool that's something of a fashion statement too. A G-Shock square is usually worn by someone who wants to look rugged and tough. Others wear it simply because it's low maintenance and can be bashed around. My watches are very shock- and water-resistant, mostly because I take them off when doing something that stands a chance at damaging it. If something catches me off guard like a shipwreck and my prized vintage dress watches get exposed to water, I'll just... fix them. If such an event is so bad that I won't be able to fix them soon, then time is of no concern to me anyway. My skeleton will at least have a cool watch.

Next is Omega. They have a lineup about as creative as cardboard. They have a chronograph that went to the moon. Did you know that? If you didn't, either Omega themselves or their imperial grand priests/priestesses will remind you every three minutes. The Seamaster Professional has a wart on its face. The Constellation Globemaster is too big. The Railmaster is cool and has an adult entertainer name. The regular Constellations are cool. The Marstimer and those funky newer space watches are awesome. The rest are just blah. It's a good brand and I love their vintage models, but new Omegas arouse me and get my blood pumping as much as a hospital ceiling. They don't excite me. I think about the new Speedmaster when I try to sleep.

Here's the obligatory WC "wear what you like" part. If you like a Seamaster Professional 300m, enjoy it. My opinions don't matter and shouldn't get in your way. It still has an ugly wart, but if you like that, go for it.

I quite agree with what I mentioned about Omega... with respect to the G Shock I have a difference, I think that the 5600 line is excellent and balanced from every point of view (resistant, sober, comfortable to the point that you forget you are wearing it, and the list could go on)...

The 5600 is probably my favourite, because it is, like you said, sober, but it doesn't really work for me. I almost bought one, but these days I wear nothing larger than ±35mm (save for a diver that I'm hoping to win at auction) so I'll probably never wear one. My lifestyle just doesn't necessitate it.

·

I do not like Homage watches and do not like seeing them.

·

It’s less about a specific watch but more about black watches… I used to love a black case it felt tactical and stealthy but now I’m not so sold on them anymore…

·

Omega

·

Jaeger LeCoultre. It’s not specifically their watches/designs, but their business practices with price increases as of last year. I’ve owned 2 Reversos and a Polaris Mariner Date and yet those three along with the rest of their lineup blew up retail price wise in less than 2 years. There were no movement and case finishing upgrades, they just went up in retail prices. They used be a nice underrated brand to me at least and now they’re getting too pompous with these price increases.

·

I don't think I've reached that point yet, but the closest would be Swatch. I used to see them on the same level as Casio in terms of quality, but now they're not even on my mind when it comes to thinking of good budget watches anymore.

·

Dive watches- I still admire them from afar but I don’t like how most wear on me. I wouldn’t buy one unless I tried it on first and Ireland is a bit of a watch desert

·

AP, royal oak specifically. used to be my dream watch when i was a teenager. Now i dislike it. Actually i don’t like integrated bracelets and most gerald genta inspired designs. VC, AP, PRX.. that design language doesn’t speak to me anymore

·

Orient Divers. Lug width messes with their proportions.
