Unlimited Watch budget! There's rules.

  1. You have an unlimited budget to spend on a watch.

  2. You must wear it every day.

  3. You must not be afraid to wear it.

  4. You must be comfortable wearing it anywhere in the world without security following you around.

  5. Your never allowed to brag about it's cost or horological significance of the watch or its brand.

Nobody but a watch geek would think to steal it. I think I can cope with an army of watch geeks with help from my wife. She'd take out 6 of them before I've taken my jacket off.

Tudor Pelagos 39 black dial. Perfect everyday watch.

I’d probably take this :-)

Tough one. It’d be a toss up between the Rolex Explorer or the Casio F-91W.

Just posted on a similar thread yesterday. Here’s mine - Daytona meteorite on oysterflex.

Probably this one 😎

It's a tricky question. The watch I currently would love if money were no object is the Tudor BB58 Bronze, but if I have to wear it daily I worry about wrist discoloration and the patina becoming a bit too grubby. My thought then went to Rolex's Explorer; I like the look of the 1016 and the modern one's not bad, but the Explorer II is possibly more useful with its GMT function. I find it a bit ugly for my one watch.

Green is my favourite colour, so I think ultimately it'd have to be one of these two Grand Seikos:

Maybe the latter as the light green of the first one might get a bit much after a while. Although I see there's no lume on either of these, which is not ideal.

OK so on second thought, maybe this customised green Explorer II:

EDIT: aaaaactually... I found a Grand Seiko that fits the bill!

I wouldn't think so but my days of sailing the high seas ended in a bar brawl in Tortuga after I'd stuffed Red Beard's parrot up Blue Beard's backside. Honestly, pirates, they just can't take a joke.

Why would you brag about how much something cost? And most brands speak for themselves. That’s just dumb.

Because there are all kinds of people out there...

I’ve walked around with more expensive things on all across the world. I’ve walked around with $30l watches on in Mex, Italy, Caymons, New York, Chicago, Bahamas, Atlanta, San Fran, Germany, Barcelona, Paris I’ve been many different places. I don’t worry about those things That’s what insurance is for my man. If you are scared to wear a watch then you probably shouldn’t be wearing one. They make watches to be worn.

I suppose you can't live your life worrying about everything. Sound advice about insurance. I've heard there's a company that can insure watches only when on your wrist.

And you would be comfortable walking around an area known for watch theft? Like London?

I live in London and wear all my watches happily. No reason why I wouldn’t wear that if I had the money to buy one, which is the real issue 😅

·

I think I'd go with this one...no chance anyone on the street knows this watch...

...might look like stainless but that's platinum 😉

(and yes I know it needs to be cleaned up...it's in Switzerland right now being serviced, polished and getting a new alligator strap)
