Favorite watch

Is it just me or do you have a watch that just sticks around and stays your favorite no matter what? I mean I have tried to replace it with other watches, but my 556A just sits there and stays my favorite. I mean it doesn’t even really have to try. It is simple, comfortable and impressively accurate. Maybe one day another watch will knock it off of its pedestal, but I doubt it.

What about you, do you have a watch that just hangs around and refuses to be dethroned?

I think my DS30 fills that roll, every time I put it on I wonder why I keep buying watches.

It is because we are not normal. A normal person would be totally content with the one watch they really like.

I bought this new, in 1976, and still have and wear it. It was serviced and restored with an OEM dial and bezel about 5 years ago. So I suppose it's a favorite,

I have the 556A and love it too. I think it has a great dial and mine is extremely accurate. I love wearing it.

My Seiko mini Tuna.

Yes, it's my newest, but I feel guilty when I don't wear it & basically the only reason I wear others is because I have them & it would feel wasteful to not occasionally do so. They truly fight to get wrist time.

I'd have to say it's my GSAR and my Marinemaster. My Explorer II is a favorite but I just don't wear it on the daily anymore & it's been that way for years. These two trade wrist time most days of the week.

It's not my only watch but it could be.

I second that opinion.

Out of those two I would have to go with the Marinemaster.

You need to wear a GSAR to "get" the GSAR.

I've worn the Hamilton Murph 38mm near continuously since acquiring 2 months ago. The short lugs make it fit great, it works in the office, it's cheap enough (relatively) that I don't worry about it, I love the understated, vintage warmth of the dial. No plans to sell my other ~10 watches as they have their merits and place but the Murph is never wrong and always welcome.

My Aquaracer is the watch I'd grab as I legged it from my house in flames. The house that is, not me in flames, for clarity. 😀

The heart wants what the heart wants. I find that watches I buy on an impulse get way more wrist time than the ones I research for a long time.

Tooo good not to wear almost every day

Out of those two I would have to go with the Marinemaster.

I wore this watch daily for almost 2 years ignoring my collection. It's big, heavy but gorgeous and beyond tough. Still wear it often. I force myself to rotate past the Marinemaster and GSAR

It is because we are not normal. A normal person would be totally content with the one watch they really like.

I was one of those so-called "normal" people and was content to own but one watch at any given time, for several decades! Have always liked and been fascinated by wrist watches and only started accumulating a few additional (modest) pieces within the past few years :)
