I just find his voice so grating, it's like nails on a chalk board. Any video with archie, Paul Thorpe, oisin or roman in I stay well clear of.

His use of vulgarity reminds me of my years working for a major developer, all the senior guys swore like truck drivers to hide their private school backgrounds or some other more profound shortcomings.

Opinions on YouTube aren’t worth the cameras they’re recorded on and I honestly don’t understand why anyone thinks these people matter.

He claims to be the first "watch youtuber" too which is a fib. I have a friend who was doing it 3 years before Archie ever appeared, but to be honest, his review videos are a bit dull.

Probably one of the first watch YouTubers, an OG so to speak. He used to say that it's "all about the snobbery" and coined the term "shitter" (something like an expensive Seiko would qualify). Only thing worth buying is stuff that costs a lot and "it has to hurt".

I think the reason why he offends so many people is because what he says is actually more relevant than we would like to admit. Enthusiasts say nobody notices your watch, but I think the reality is that people notice but don't say anything... and deep down we know it, that's why they sell for so much money. The number of people who will buy an expensive watch to "flex" is far larger than the crowd of enthusiasts. These people, although they will largely remain silent when you are around, would consider some watches "junk" or, well, "shitters". The number of people who judge those that do own expensive watches is also not at all small, my family has many very vocal members of that group. So in that sense watch ownership, when averaged over the general public, actually is mostly about snobbery.

He is funny to watch, appreciate the satire of some of his views , I do think though he would gain a bigger following if he was a little more chilled and articulate, as he does have a lot of experience

I believe it is basically any watch that is under ~$2k and not from an esteemed Swiss luxury maker. TBH I suspect it is a fairly subjective term. Any ROLEX or PATEK seems to be safe though. Brewmonts cost too much and may qualify.

I love and have quite a few Squale watches........ so Archie Luxury and I are not too well aligned!!!😀

I watched his videos when I got into more serious collecting. His voice was annoying but the commentary was fair. If you saw his video when he was robbed of his whole collection, you'd feel sorry for him. You'd see that he is a passionate collector like any one of us.

I am indifferent. I'm not one to follow the recommendations of a Youtuber to buy a watch. To this day, I have yet to own a BB58, the darling of many YouTube watch commentators. I have no criticism of him.

He is a hypocrit watched him for years find him funny in some respect,he calls watches shitters but then owns said shitter then its not shit anymore,watch dealer mentality good advice if your going down that lane,if you love watches and not investing in them bad place to be,makes me laugh that people send him collection reviews when they now he's going to laugh at there watches like they don't tell the time and there not attachable to the wrist 😂🤣

Archie is a guilty pleasure of mine in the same way Alex Jones is. I don’t agree with a word they say and I definitely do not want to be caught watching by my spouse, but by Christ they do entertain me

I can’t tell if this guy has just come with with a false personality to portray on YouTube or if he has a genuine mental illness and this is just him. Either way he is unlistenable!

Also there is around 2min of content in a 20min video. He will resort himself a dozen times and take orders of magnitude more time to make a point than necessary.

"Paul" (a.k.a. Archie Luxury) unintentionally helps the non-snobs of society through his "nails-on-the-chalkboard" and most likely sociopathic persona through sheer aversion. Vulgar, somehow informed and sadly ...entertaining imho. Still, I don't recommend tuning in.
