"Paul" (a.k.a. Archie Luxury) unintentionally helps the non-snobs of society through his "nails-on-the-chalkboard" and most likely sociopathic persona through sheer aversion. Vulgar, somehow informed and sadly ...entertaining imho. Still, I don't recommend tuning in.
IMHO, Leather belongs on the occasional dress watch and never on something getting wet. Unless you have money to burn, even a sweaty wrist will cause even the "best" leathers to get smelly and messed up a whole lot easier than ballistic nylon or rubber for sure.
... to clarify, I'm looking for the two piece heavy duty nylon strap like the one shown above in a specific color which I can't find anywhere -- and yes, there are companies on Amazon, but I might have to contact each one individually and see if they do custom stuff?? Just thought somebody might have a company they've worked with and could recommend.
What about setting a budget and writing them each a card offering to go watch shipping with them individually to shop for the one they would choose and have it be a fun time togeather? They'll get THEIR choice, and you'll all have a nice memory to share.
I literally just parted with my 1998 Seiko alarm chrono very similliar to this last week after sitting for years. It went through a broken crystal and at least two battery changes but it sure did the job! : ) ...Welcome!
Great discussion. Both solar and kinetic movements obviously do still use batteries which may have been sitting on shelves for quite a while prior to purchase as we have found, so they may require servicing sooner than expected. Also, if we're not living in close proximity to a certified / competant service place it means travel / shipping and time costs. I'd just much prefer a 200m auto and plan to pay more for recertification on a diver watch IMHO. : )
